Fightstick suggestion
Hey all,

Im considering getting a fightstick for Soul Calibur. I was eying the Razer Atrox for Xbox One but found some issues with the drivers registering trigger strokes. Does anyone have experience with this particular platform? If not does anyone have a suggestion on a similar type of fight stick with like features?

The big thing for me is being able to replace the artwork under the plexiglass as I would like to replace the art for my own.

I have the Hori RAP 4. There isn't any clear plastic you can put artwork under, but its a super solid stick that has good weight due to a metal plate on the bottom. It doesn't move in my lap, the buttons are really responsive, and the stick feels super accurate. I replaced the square gate with a octagonal gate so that it has distinct 8 way notches. The thing is awesome. Look at that, and then look for sticks in that price range that have a clear plastic on top. And don't forget to look for an octagonal gate, as in my opinion, it is way better for fighting games.

Fight sticks, in my opinion are the way to play a fighting game. Once you get use to it, you will probably never go back. Im not the best fighting game player on the planet, but I know that it has helped me, and I actually think it makes it more fun.

I use an Etokki Omni stick and it works wonders. Super easy to fix if broken and you can put art under the clear faceplate. Also super custimizable. Not as many utility features as other sticks, but it gets the job done.

How hard is it to mod? I like Blues' idea of the octagon stopper.

Take a look at the site for it. I dont prefer an octagon, but you can have it with a Japanese or korean stick. The buttons too. Should anything break all you need to do is undo six screws and everything can be replaced or customized at your behest. However it is costly, sitting at $200. However you get what you pay for and with the case being metal, it can take a ding or two.

I personally use the Razer Panthera. Its a bit on the pricey side but ita a tank, comes with a ball and a bat top for your preference, a few replacement screws, and a little screw driver for when you need to get into it.

Ive dropped it off my lap onto the floor stick first, and it started having input issues for 3 and 1, but I dug into the sticks insides a bit with the included screw driver and managed to tighten up the problem area and fix it good as new.

As for custom modding, the Button and Stick are easy, and fully moddable/interchangeable.

How ever the artwork on it IS customizable, but its ddifficult to do and you would need a guide for it

Here is the link to the octagonal plate for the Hori Hayabusa Joystick.:

If you don't get a Hori, this one wont be compatable, but you should be able to find one for any other arcade stick manufacturer, just make sure first. You can see just by looking at the first picture that on the bottom of the joystick itself is only 4 screws. Undo those, take the square plate off, put the octagonal one on, put screws back in! Its that simple.

As for gettting into the arcade stick itself, every one of them should be able to be opened at the bottom of it by removing a few screws. Super easy stuff. It will take you 5 minutes.

Check this out! I didn't even know this existed. At the website with the octagon plate, they sell a Plexi cover for the RAP4. It might be just what you are looking for.: https://www.focusattack.com/blank-plexi-cover-for-hori-rap4-kai-rapv-non-import-kai/

One more link. Heres a video on how you would change the artwork, and he even takes the whole thing apart, so this would give you an idea of what you are getting into. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=187&v=Las0_Au_KdM

That doesn't look so bad, I saw a different video and it looked way harder. Defiantly an option as a buddy of mine also recommended this particular setup.

I also considered this as its basically like the Atrox, and preferred the Atrox over it as it was for Xbox and not Playstation. But I saw that they have recently updated it and I like the way the artwork plate on it.

I think I have three options I gotta explore. Thanks all for the suggestions!
