How well did this sell/is it doing?
I'm reading 400 players online. I'm not familiar with fighters and players at peak but this seems extremely low for such a great game (I'll admit i've not played it much, work often and no time, but ready to jump in and seeing such a small player base, what gives?)
I know Bamco is pretty broke but this, I hope, sold well enough. How'd it do? It's been out long enough to see how well this game did. I'd be saddened to see SC sort of go the way of any other franchise that has such background and history, but just stopped selling because the new stuff isn't like this.

It seems to be doing better than SC V, that installment of the franchise was absolute crap and nearly killed it, so lets hope VI can keep up going with the new armor packs and still to be released characters from DLC.

I'm sort of waiting for new characters. I liked the streamlined meta, it's ex mode but it's still all about how you play, so it does still hole the easy to play hard to master gameplay. I'm a SC2 "purist" lol, well SC from dreamcast and onto SC2, 3 was okay and I liked the PSP one. But this is cool, just not into fighters atm, but if SC shows up, i'll buy it.

I would love to have an option to enable a purist mode, the masterful gameplay that was the original SC I.

Oh well, lets hope we get more characters and Bandai-Namco more sales out of this game so they keep updating it, thay already have a base engine with lots of potential.

If it’s not mainstream (mk, sf5, dbfz, tekken) it’s not popular basically. And from what I’ve read SC was never the most popular FG. The usual count for unpopular games on PC is around 200-400 or legitimately dead (1-40 players). Oh this game did sell well because October apparently held a solid 4k players. But it gradually went down to where it is now. Also this game daily peaks around 600 still so it’s still not the worst in terms of player count tbh.

The Cynic here...
This is not doing slightly better than V.
It's just as bad and people are tolerating this entry becasue it's been 6 F***ing years.
Don't be fooled...this is not going to be a No Mans Sky, or FF15.

If you want to fight other players don't buy it. There is no magical influx of players on the way.
The first balance pass wasn't even enough to hold the attention of 200 players.
This game will not make a comeback.

If you want to play against other players online. Forget it, it is 100% a waste of money if that's what you really want out of it. If you just want to D**k around in the various offline modes sure pick it up. But that's all you'll be doing.

I hiiiiighly doubt CAS means anything at this point.
You'll be all dressed up with nowhere to go.
I foresee a team re-purpose coming and still missing CAS pieces.
Steam taking their cut...nah...it's a wrap they won't be able to sustain to get the CAS updates out.

I mostly liked soul calibur 5 I was alot more optimistic in 5 than this one. I think there is alot of lame "fluff" mechanics in 6.

The game was in the top 10 selling games in October and got pretty good reviews, so I'd say it did well. The main issue for multiplayer is that there isn't any cross-play, so that limits the game in some ways.

Something to keep in mind, though, is that this game was low budget, so in terms of profit, Bandai is probably satisfied. We'll get all of the DLC, but I don't know where the franchise will go from there. I expect that SC7 won't turn out for another 3 or 4 years.

God Eater 3 is hitting on PC, so it definitely sold enough units on PC. Also keep in mind that fighting games are much more popular on consoles, so i think it'd be reasonable for them to announce Season 2 once all the DLCs are released for Season 1?

Well this got me interested

GE3! I didn't even know one was in the making. Or made. Sweet! Def watching for that one.

This game I honestly tagged it as "couch coop" from the day I preordered it. I suppose tolerating it for what it is because it's been 6 years like the post mentioned is sort of true. Hell i'd been happy with a revamped SC2/3. I like what they did with it overall but it did make it casual. Still, it is like most fighters, sort of beat up and go on about your day. I never really got into ranking systems. Lag, player match making (I used to do tourneys and made a lot of $ off SC2 and smash, but i've not touched a fighter sine forever. This was a buy, well because of the above reasons. I wanted SC in my library. Sad it didn't do well but perhaps we can find people to jam with over time hat dedicate to whoop my ass because they dedicated and i'm still nooblet with it haha, too may changes, combos don't make sense to me anymore...I mean if i did what I did with SC2 and played for days on end praticing the combos i'd sure as hell be down for tournaments and ranked matches, but I prefer for fun matches that aren't recorded. I'm just happy I can play offline. Roster is not really there and I hope we get some more characters. Think there was 3 w pre order content, Tira and 2B, so we have 1 more, or 2? Sadly I just liked Rose and I miss shield slapping with Cassandra)

Them bringing more content would help alot here, get it back on the charts. Will they do it? Idk. Too many other games soaking up peoples time, and free mmo's have become the space on steam. I don't play em, like to have my game saves offline and play without internet. Guess a console would be better suited for me, but I own so many games on steam it's stupid. Sort of don't have a reason to own anything else.

There are 2 characters and 2 CaS parts packs left to be released in the season pass.

Good, so two more characters to look forward to. Hopefully interesting ones.

Some people are also speculating that a second season pass with even more characters might happen, due to some codes found in the recent patch.

The keyword here, "speculating".

Just because your casual butt was able to beat your brother or mom in SC1 doesn't mean the game wasn't broken.

If that game would release now with online in it, you'd be crying buckets of tears about the broken stuff people find.

Likewise a SC6 without RE and CE would be utter trash as there's characters like Mitsurugi who aren't even functional without meter, as their best moves and punishes are locked behind SC/CE.
