-Validating all files through steam
-restarting my router
-reinstalling the game
-changing my steam download region to match his
-attempting to join non private lobbies and play each other through those
-setting each other to away and then back to online in game to try to jank it into working
Absolutely nothing is working, I bought two damn copies of this game and it is completely busted. We played just fine for hours and then suddenly nothing. I've checked multiple forums, and twitter about this, and it's not just effecting us. The team is supposedly aware of it, but hasn't done anything to fix it because they are apparently too busy shilling Robot Ass DLC.
Don't be so quick about calling them out for doing nothing. You don't know that. Also, robot bottom lives matter too.
I'm just saying you might have to have a little patience and see if they'll come up with a fix.
Other lobbies work, ranked works. Just wait for a patch, 2 weeks is not a long time in game development like that guy said. Is this your first time buying a video game and encountering a situation like this?
Validating game files
Power cycling network equipment
Port forwarding the suggested ports
Disabling firewalls
Disabling antivirus software
Flushing the DNS cache and releasing/renewing the IP configuration
Uninstalling the game, clearing broken registry entries that were associated to the game, and reinstalling the game
Temporarily deleting save data and disabling Steam cloud (in case it was some kind of corrupted profile data issue)
Attempting to play online on the same internet connection (to rule out an issue with compatibility between our internet connections of some kind, although we host servers on both of our internet connections for the other to join for a myriad of other games without any issues...we don't live in the same house anymore)
It has not worked once in the last week and a half. It worked without fail every single time before that. With this list, I think we have exhausted nearly every testable client side issue.
