I once had created an Angel and losing her wings made me sad, too :(
Clothes or armor breaking in combat is perverted? I'm sorry but thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. Do you think it perverted in DBZ for Goku's shirt to be ripped apart in combat to the point he ends up shirtless? Oh what about Recoom? he had part of his butt showing due to a hole in his clothes caused by combat.
Why not? At least it's realistic that armor or clothes can be damaged and even destroyed in battle. I know Soul Calibur only with this feature and I think keeping it is natural to the game. BTW, it's not even braking quickly.
Just because it's the only one doesn't mean there is a need for it. I first would disable that option from the start. You get nothing, your stats are the same, you get damaged the same - nothing.
I prefer keeping my character in the way I made the design, and I think many players share my sentiment.
Some parts do break easily. For example one of my Taki designs has kimono. One lethal hit and it's off.
Why do I need armor break? I swear PS made some strange decision when making this game....
also, armor break is just a small detail, focus on the fighting lol
I have build characters, with armor break in mind, "layering" the design accordingly, but if you -for example- build a snout or create a birdman, armor break ruins the whole concept.
Therefore, i would like to see a toggle option for every part (that isn't undergarment) in CaS. That should give us the best of both worlds.
it was introduced in 2008, Soul Calibur IV. bamco claimed the series was supposed to have ended with SCIV, they sold out and brought in Star Wars characters to cross promote the first forced unleashed game instead of actually getting proper guest characters.
it stook around when SCV came out in 2012 along with a lot of other new features and now unfortunately it's oozed it's way into SCVI. i agree though, it's a negative point and a gimmick at this point. waste hours in creation mode only for it to be destroyed.
side note. it's also debatable morally suspect with talim and amy below the age of 18 even in the new canon timeline. but then i remember it's Japan, my home turf. anything goes in the land of the fallen sun.
Realism in a game, where an apponent is being impaled by a huge sword and by many other weapons is a matter for itself. Of course SC6 is not really a game of realism, just one hit with a sword could kill a person. But instead, you are draining your energy and a person can stand several rounds. Not to mention the magical moves...
So it's just a fantasy based game. You are right, it's not really nice that a full-armored knight is wielding exactly the same damage like an almost nude girl in a bikini does, but that's SC.
I can fully understand you like to keep your fighter in the way you created him/ her. But it will always be a matter of taste. I like my clothes as well, but it doesn't bother me if my fighters are being stripped by damage.
I can imagine there are mods or something...
Cool, thx, I will try
Sadly I'm bothered because I don't have many customs on which I've spent some hours making them look good.
Mods? You can only switch parts between breakable/unbreakable with hex editor, if I'm not mistaken.
Not that im complaining (Although I will say it makes making custom characters certainly more interesting) but I never understood what exactly it does.
Last if you're playing online an individual choice for braking or not braking armor parts would turn the game havoc. On the other hand, if there are mods available, which are causing changes the online player can't see, it shouldn't be that big deal, either. Not sure.
Problem is - some ppl like it, other do not. So what should Namco do?
I never did hex editing on SC6, I would just destroy it :D. Afaik there is a bunch of mods available for the game, but not very many.
