Anyone still getting the "Network data could not be retrieved" error?
There was another thread somewhere in here that had people with this problem but two or so days ago it seemed to be fixed. Well, guess not entirely because I still have it. The only difference is that I never launched the game on Linux, I have Windows 10.
Anyone got any workarounds?

Not sure about you mean the same problem that I had, but I couldn't play online until a couple of days ago.

Who did I resolve it? The reason looks to be related that my internet provider is Movistar, which has problems with other games. The solution has been to install a VPN program, Windscribe. It's free, although I'll experiment tomorrow to know if my antivirus has a similar function, to not need Windscribe.

Windscribe has been very useful with this and other fighting games where I couldn't play online (although other FGs have never given me problems), but I have to be careful to turn off Torrent before to use it, because Windscribe has a limit of 2 GB per month (10 GB if you send your email).

There are more VPN applications which can work for it.

Ah my problem was that it just said it couldn't retrieve network data or something similar to that but it fixed itself today

VPN adds network delay and could cause lags.
It's better to avoid using.
I'd suggest work with your ISP to unblock necessary port, or change different ISP if you can.

No, this was apparently something along the lines of a server crash. People started getting "Could not connect to Network" errors at about the same time, it resolved itself about the same time. And I bet if we dug deeper we'd find out it was only certain regions affected (ie, regions that connect to a specific server that had a problem.) These things happen from time to time.

Well, I don't have any insider information, so I was just speculating based on the information I had gathered from tests that I ran (trying SC6 on two different machines in case something was corrupt on one, making sure I had internet connectivity by just browsing the web, and trying other games to test if it was just SC.) Whatever the exact cause, all evidence points to something wrong on their end and not ours.
