Question about in-game chat
Loving the game so far, but just curious if anyone knows/thinks they will eventually add/allow custom typing in the game. Not a deal breaker, but its a bit unfortunate to randomly scroll through the presets 10 times when i just wanna say, "Sick counter there man." Just makes me feel like I'm playing a childrens game where we can't be trusted to actually talk to eachother. However, just to clarify again, loving the actual game itself.

It's an online fgthing game, bud. The sad truth is, we can't be trusted to talk to actually talk with each other. That would jsut devolve in terrible terribleness.

Yeah I guess, I just feel like how "online" is it really if all I can say are some robot stock answers. Whats to differentiate one player from the next? I always enjoyed meeting the occasional cool person in the sea of garbage and being like, we should play again or just exchanging pointers with people. I'd personally rather deal with the cons of custom chat then not have it at all. Still I can see your point, just willing to pay the cost.

If not being able to say ♥♥♥ when you lose makes you that mad, just play overwatch or a moba.

The real kicker was SC4-5 supported chat with keyboard just fine, if you bothered plugging a keyboard into your 360/PS3.

I know chucks of SC6's code is derived from 5, so it feels like they purposefully took it out (probably didn't, just overlooked).
I know on console too this isn't a bad issue cause of native mic support, but us PC users don't get that either.

Personally i just want to be able to at least link a Discord room or something without the hassle if finding and friending 7 strangers to send them DMs on steam.

They have to babysit the new generation of kids that twitch brought into fighting games. God forbid someone may say a bad word in their presence.

Alot of fighting games have decided not to allow open mic or free chat these days. It's kinda sad, since I often wanna spew toxic at people and it's difficult with preset messages. There could just be an option to block out the chats if they're worried that some babby's feels are so hurt.

They won't add it.

However, I wish they would. For all the toxic reputation, I've made quite a few friends with fighting games, and most of them was through random matchmaking. Having to go through hoops to find someone after a tense, close match and wanting to say GG's is the norm, but it really shouldn't be.

Need to preserve the precious feelings of snowflakes and prevent them from getting trash talked. ^^

Kinda pointless to have any kind of chat in a fighting game without a physical lobby tho. Chat is nice in BBTAG where you can derp around the lobbies and spam chibi emotes but dont see much need for it here.
