Before i go to bed tilted by how f'ing dumb the Libra of Soul AI are, I just want to know why the hell the Fissure AI are dumb. Like bruh lol It's like playing Chess against an AI with every possible outcome. I have never seen such retarded ♥♥♥♥ in my life. its not a "Challenge", its just you get your ass handed to you by a bot who overly peforms for no reason. such bs.

So how does one get better weapons that match their level? I'm level 88 and my strongest weapon is a level 70 that can't have any buffs applied to it. All my other weapons are level 54 and below and I keep getting my ass handed to me by level 75's and up. I've been farming "In search of strength" quests over and over in the hopes of getting a better weapon as I assume that's the only way to get them. I had to fight a level 72 Mitsurugi Master with a level 52 weapon and all it gave me was a crappy level 50 sword...
yeah, Like Zach said, You get them mostly from random Encounters. That's where i've found most of mine to say the least

The inconsistency is the worst part.

You'll fight several enemies that are super easy, and even timed fights that get you into a complacent pattern to finish fights quickly.

Then you fight an AI that counters the pattern you've become used to, and while you're trying to re-adjust yourself they combo you into the ground.

That being said, the worst is definitely the Ancients. Took me 2 hours to beat one with how the AI perfectly knew every combo and counter the character could use to their fullest.

I mean Ancients deserve to be difficult, but the difficulty spikes in this mode are crazy.

I use mitsurugi and spam up A+B to cheese the ai, even works for the katana ancient.

The input reading is really ridiculous in the game, not in a good way.

Speaking of dumb AI, I love the slippery stages where I dance around them and they will run off the edge on their own.

Dude i feel ya. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1 round perfect and almost kill valto. Then get stun combod and specialed to death in 2 seconds flat. next round ai wins because it has 1 charge bar over me.

Input reading alone didn't seem to be problem...but seem like AI also got speed buff and able to skip recover frame after attack or take hit... everytime I defeat them make me feel like they just let me won.

Any chance the AI is moddable? I'd love to try and make it more humanlike (or at least less frustrating) but I don't know much about UE modding.

I thought I was imagining things, if they really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with framedata then it's the most lazy and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up design in a fighting game.

Yes, the Fissure opponents do rather steal the liquid excreta, if you catch my meaning. I suspect most of them in the post-game are on Legendary difficulty, which unlocks in VS if you beat Legendary Arcade (which unlocks after Very Hard.)

It IS possible to make a challeging fighting game AI that doesn't rely entirely on input-reading shenanigans (DOA5 does it pretty well) but it's hard and most devs don't bother, sadly. At least Fissures close on their own after a few 'turns' so you can skip ones with particularly abusive mods.

Oh and BTW if you do try Legendary Arcade, play Inferno. Trust me on this.

You also need to actively think about your build at end game. You can't just grab a random weapon from a shop, or just use some weak one from early story and be alright. You need to make a build, and your weapon's level needs to be close to your level. So if you're sitting at level 60, don't use a level 28 weapon. At the end game, I managed to make a build that gave me infinite Critical Edges and I also got healed 20% every time I used it. Doing that made me virtually invinsible, and every late/post game boss a joke.

Would you be able to give a quick summary of how you managed to create the inf CritEdge build? Any tips would be great

I've beaten all of the difficulty levels in arcade using Seigfried and Geralt. It's actually a lot easier than my online matches.
If you can guard impact, dodge, and know when to use Critical Edge, it gets easy.

I am worst players out there, so I have lost against AI in many games even on easy difficulty, but in this one it feels like AI is cheating. When AI activates its "godmode" it guards, evades and counter everything you throw at it, usually when its healthbar is low or halfway or it sometimes combo you to death from start. Level does not always mean everything, sometimes I beat lv70 with lv40 fairly easy, but then again had to abandon repeating sidequest where I was lv99 with 700 attack power weapon and they had lv55 with 210 attack power weapon. They blocked, countered and evaded everything over and over again.

By far best weapon I have is Nightmares lv 63 sword with 400 attack power, it does much more damage than my lv90 weapons with 700-800 attack power. Nightmare weapon is pretty much only one that can beat enemies, this makes leveling other weapons annoying because low level quests are rare post game and even in those enemy might be invincible for me. Arcade was much more enjoyable, Libra feels like work even though I like its concept of leveling, gathering weapons and doing story quests. Its just way too hard for me.

I was able to finish it though...by spamming x with Nightmares weapon, this works far better than anything else I tried, what a great way to prepare players for online matches. I never play online myself though, no point, I would just lose all my matches.

In arcade mode I at least could play way I wanted, much better than Libras button smashing. I am too tired to play Libra anymore, its like banging my head against the wall, so no mastering all weapons (only 3 mastered) and some sidequest left undone. I wish there would be difficulty setting in Libra mode.

Guard impact, dodge and critical edge are completely useless to me, I managed to time them right in tutorial (though it took long), but in actual battle they are "self-destruct" skills for me.
