How is the single player content?
I am very much a bad player when it comes to fighting games, and with many hours of practice I can squeeze myself in the "average" skill levels or slightly lower than that.

As a result, PvP is very much not for me outside of drunk "winner stays" between friends.

I did play a soul calibur on game cube a long time ago that had a fun semi-rpg single player where you had various weapons for each character and battles with different rules, it was more or less the most fun I ever had in a fighting game.

I don't really care all that much for the "story" mode that are just normal fights against the computer, and I am having difficulty finding out about what the single player content is outside of the existence of such a mode.

Two story modes. One is a classic "you play through the lore" kinda mode, in the other you create a character and go from point to point on a map to level up, find new weapons, items and upgrade stones to improve your character. Youre free to just grind there, do side quests or do the story. Its like the mission mode from SCII in a way.

There is a story mode that retells and somewhat retcons Soul Calibur 1 through 5. It is basic but enjoyable enough for what it is.

The other story mode is built around your own custom character and is extremely similar to mission mode/weapon master mode. I have played it for about five hours and do not feel like I am anywhere close to the halfway point. There seems to be a lot of depth to it as your progress and the there are reasons to replay it with other custom characters, so I could easily see it lasting some players quite awhile.

As a single player game this is very comparable to what SCI and II had I think. I am very satisfied personally.

Ya also got Vs. CPU, CPU vs. CPU, and an Arcade mode that has a different end fight depending on the difficulty.

Plus CAS creation is something one will spend time fiddling with. ;)

So good choice getting the game yeah. :D

There is no survival mode which annoys me
Soul Calibur 3 was the best when it came to Single Player content
