Beyond that, there are two more options to go into night terror mode (aside from soul charge):
4KK has a command grab at the second move which activates night terror if it hits the opponent and they don't block it.
6AB is an unconditional dark wave burst. This is the ONLY move in Nightmares arsenal (aside from soul charge) that he can use without requiring any interaction with the opponent. Careful: 6AB is a revenge move itself, so if you hit him during chargeup, an even bigger explosion will occur.
In general, the way to beat Nightmare is to:
- respect his options: let him strike first, then counter.
- do NOT spam attacks. You will be punished.
- stay in his face as much as possible. Do not let him out-range you.
- attack his feet, he's very VERY vulnerable on the ground
- use launchers. He has extremely poor air control and can be juggled like crazy.
