Stuck at Lethal Hit Tutorial

Hi, I'm just doing the second combat tutorial where I'm supposed to hit the instructor twice with a lethal hit and I can't figure out how to do it. I'm using Siegfried's style and the moves list says Horizontal+Vertical and Horizontal->Guard->Horizontal can both be used for Lethal Hits.

What I tried:

Counter with Lethal Hit Move, 2. Chose Lethal Hit Move during post-counter standoff, 3. Keep spamming Lethal Hit Move after post-counter standoff

Counter with Lethal Hit Move, 2.Chose Vertical for post-counter standoff (since nothing else hits), 3. Spam Lethal Hit Move after hitting with Vertical.

What am I supposed to do? Can someone help me out?

Sorry for bumping, but I have asked in several places and still don't know how to do it. I'd really like to go on in the game.

I'm not sure what you meant by the 2nd one (B->G->B), but I just tried out the A+B one in training. You need to do a reversal edge (RB on a controller) and then go to the 2nd stage (since it's a tutorial I assume anything you press will take you to the 2nd stage), then press A+B for the lethal hit. Again sorry I can't help with the other one you're having trouble with but I couldn't find it in the lethal hit movelist for Siegfried.

Edit: Oh also when I say A and B, I mean Horizontal and Vertical respectively. Not actuall buttons on the controller (X and Y on and Xbox controller). A B K G is the notation used for Soul Calibur, sorry if that was confusing.

The AI always uses Guard in the Standoff so I can get to the second stage by also using Guard. But when I use A+B on the second stage, it never hits since it's blocked by Guard.

It says the conditions for each lethal hit in the move list

Thanks everyone for replying. I managed to do it on accident now. Couldn't repeat it but hey, at least I can move on.

you need to hit him *before* the animation sequence (rock/paper/scissors phase) starts.
