I'VE GOTTA BUY IT TODAY. WAITED TOO LONG!!
And yes, it has no cinimatics from what i can tell.. it's really bumming me out that they put so little effort into the main story.. All ive seen so far are just illustrations with portraits of characters as dialogue is said in the background.
I can't agree with your standpoint though. They have put a lot of passion into this game. Sure, a lot of the cosmetic items have been there since the fourth installment, but we are getting more content coming anyway + the items you can unlock in libra of souls.
As for the lack of cinematics, there have never been that many cinematics in a soul calibur game aside from the opening cinematic. The golden days of those are sadly over, but that's no reason to not enjoy it in the format it is currently in. The story is a celebration of the past installments and is truly a retelling of the earlier soul calibur chapters. In the earliest games, we did not even have these scenes with voices speaking for us, merely boxes with a text which we could read.
I just wished for an epic cinematic opening like in Soul Edge/ Soul Calibur :(
BTW I just bought the game :D
