Player one and two locally
when i go to 2 player local PVP in game it says I must register 2nd controller. when i go in big picture mode, it tells me 2 controllers are active. they both play as player one. they are ps4 controllers. I ran them in big picture mode as ps4. didnt work. I used ds4 for windows and ran them as xbox controllers. still doesnt register in soul calibur 6 that I have 2 separate conrollers. it still says register 2nd contoller.I have tried other fighting 2 player games and they all work fine.

I have the same problem with the gamepad and keyboard. I'll have someone use the gamepad while I use the keyboard. I even rebinded my keys for player 2 when player 1 didn't work and it still registers both as player 1.

They'll both show up in big picture, register as player one in menu (meaning both players are seen as P1 and can navigate the menu), but in the selection screen it'll have the players press START (or something similar) to select their controller. Not sure if this helps but it was odd at first.
Probably its because steam input doesnt support 2 controllers.
I always repeat - use native input support of games especially fightings, you dont need additional layers that actually can cause increased input lag.

On other hand this game (unlike tekken) has wrong default configuration for DirectInput devices (basically all your ps4 fightsticks work under windows as DirectInput device), so you will need to configure them properly.

They are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up because of wrong default configuration. But you still can modify configs.
Go here %LocalAppData%\SoulcaliburVI\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor there should be file input.ini.
First section starts with (DeviceGUID="05C4054C-0000-0000-0000-504944564944",DeviceName="DualShock4"...
This config should be right for all your ps4 controllers.
After this controller you will find all other controllers found in your system. Copy paste configuration from 1st section to you other controllers. This will probly be right config.
If not - then you will have to find right button order and axes order by yourself.
