Tekken is only for good players.
It's true that Sc is easier to learn, but alot people plateau at mid level. A solid player is still gonna get bodied 45 out of 50 times by a good player. It's not enough to just master your main, you really have to learn every character's moveset and be very familiar with the matchups because with weapons....balance kinda goes out the window. There are some major mismatches in the game.
Soulcalibur is special to me because soul edge made me love fighting games and I prefer weapon based fighters like in samurai shodown or last blade.
This game is more about punishing your opponent, getting into his head than comboing someone to death.
Which is why it's always been my favorite. Does that make me a filthy casual? Maybe.
I just don't have fun with the type of gameplay that revovles around turning one mistake it a massive punish by however can master the manual dexterity to do a long combo string.
SC is more focused on the zoning and footsies. I'd say Soul Calibur will have more variety, in that more of the characters will feel more unique, but SCVI will defintely have less in the way of combos.
