A shame, I want him back mostly just to use his soul for custom charactesr
It was because he was not only non-canon but his moveset was rather poorly done.
The IDEA of him was awesome, yet you should revisit him and take a good look at his moveset. It wasn't as awsome as it should have been.
In many ways his moveset seemed more like an afterthought... probably the main reason why Soul Calibur 3 which had almost every single moveset in the entire series... Except Heichi and Necrid.
because of azwel and partnered with the fact Bandai namco dont own the rights
i sincerely doubt we will see necrid, but it would certainly be a suprising DLC
also to add in on the moveset, it WAS an afterthought, unlike every other character in soulcal, the weapon and fighting style was thought after the character was created. ( for every one else, the weapon was created, then the character was designed around the weapon )
and Necrid didnt even have his own fighting style, necrids moves are mostly a collection from other characters, he had moves from Nightmare, Maxi, ivy, Cervantes, Talim, Voldo, Taki and astroth.
necrid didnt even have a voice actor, necrid's voice recordings, when reversed. reveal that his lines are mitsurugi's but the pitch was messed with and voice distorted.
while it was debated for years if Necrid was canon or not, it was confirmed that he was canon in the New Ledgends of Project Soul according to the book, a warrior named necrid fought a sword believed to be soul edge before disappearing into another dimenstion.
Necrid was a character made to fit into the Soul Edge/Soul Calibur lore, but that doesn't necessarily make him canon. After all, speaking of SC2 characters, the player's Weapon Master rival Veril wasn't exactly canon either, were they? SC has always played with the idea of what was and wasn't canon - if they can get the rights again, Necrid would make a great adition.
Necrid's license/copyright might even make it less likely that they break the 'rules' with his inclution.
I'd guess it were a 50/50 between love/hate for the char.. and the rest didn't really care about him.
I (as always) don't care about him (as I generally don't like guest characters).
And I think the demand for him is lower then for quite a few others.
if it goes into a Season 2.. Who knows what they will add, as most of the cast is 'within reach', if anyone else gets added before the DLC chars.. and then 3 DLC chars.
plus he have like 10 fans in the entire world.
sorry
