Is the character creation dead?
I can't see other people's character creation to use, or is there any step that i am missing?

Okay, when you select a character to take, it should bring you to the normal customization mode as if you were creating your own, but with all of the other person's options and thumbnail (if they bothered to do one) already put in. The next step would be to either "Finish Creation" or exit the mode and choosing to Save.

This is what I was trying to get at with my longer post. If you're in the main menu Creation area then switch to the 'Customize' tab (right bumper with x360 controller). The thumbnails will be empty/blank as there is no data initially. Select any of the open slots in this area like Heartless said (sounds like you were doing this already) and it should load up a character created by someone else. You can move between the characters it gives you (random and not sure how to refresh it) until you find one you like. Press A (again, x360 controller) and click yes to the question of it you want to download it.

Per Heartless' post this should take you to the area where you can tweak the design. Save the character when you're ready and it will take up a slot on the 'Customize' tab. Definitely an odd system to do this...

If you want to actually USE the downloaded character (in VS or Arcade, you can't use it online) then go to the custom character during character select and switch to the 'Customize' set (using bumpers with x360). From what I've found, the 'random soul' option will only select between the base roster and the ones you personally created. I've never been randomized into a downloaded creation.

What do you mean? I see them all the time. Are you talking about online play or Libra of Soul?

I only go into the main menu one, never been to libra of souls yet

Not sure if it's similar to what you had, but I noticed that when my connection to Steam hiccuped while ingame the tab for browsing/using online creations disappeared. I had to relaunch the game with an online connection to Steam for that tab to appear again.

Sounds like connection weirdness. Check that you're not Offline on steam when it happens if it occurs again

When you go into Create a Soul from the main menu, do you see two tabs at the top? One will be for your personal creations and if you want to use creations by others switch to the other tab. This will show another set of 100 slots. Go to use an open one like you would your own and it should take you to the 'gallery' SC6 has for online creations. It's not exactly robust as you get a set of characters you can swap left/right between. Save one you like to that slot and then use the next slot for another person's creation.

Another way to save people's creations is to look at their profiles in the Replay/Battle Log menu or when waiting for a match in a casual lobby. If the person has uploaded a creation to the network, it will appear in the first page to the left in their profile card. From that page you can use the submenu to save the creation if you like it and have access to all of its parts

somehow I can access to other people's creation through the main menu 'creation', but I cant see the thumbnail of their characters in the customize window, it looked empty and the way I can see theirs is to click on random panel
