In wushu, the weapons are flexible so that they flash better and show to the judges when enough force is being used. Actual scholar jian like Krita Yuga weren't that whippy, but with all her acrobatics I guess it's inspired by wushu.

Unless you were being cheeky and refering to the big black rubber sword she hides in a shoebox under her bed, in which case - yes, it gets very awkward when she pulls it out.

I'm assuming he means how it vibrates in her hand in the load screen and when she blocks. I don't find it distracting but it does annoy me

Basically it started in wushu sport for reasons mentioned above and then migrated to Chinese action cinema where it became a movie trope, so because of it many people now associate wobbly swords (and spears) with Chinese martial arts.
