Is Geralt overpowered?
The video trailer makes him look like he's just over the top. I don't actually even own this game, just asking if that's actually how good he is.

According to tierlists from pro"s geralt is low tier .

Though this game is fairly well balanced-the most recent major tournament was won by voldo, who is also part of the lowest tier

A trailer's job is to make someone look overpowered.

That said, no. He is not.

He is bore.

Based on my personal experience, I wouldn't say he's a bad character as of 1.50, but I also wouldn't say he's good either if that makes any sense.

If you want a mid-ranged fighter, you're probably better off playing Mitsurugi, though I can admit that Geralt has a fair share of moves that are incredibly satisfying if they connect

He kinda has a good version of everything you'd want but then preety garbo punishment. Not a bad charracter tho.

Talking about Geralt still has me concerned that Bamco will "make room" for Haohmaru
Nah, he's in the middle somewhere. Really good players can make him look OP as f*ck though.

Great pokes, decent lows and mediocre punish is what I feel about him. Overall if I were making a tier list I'd put him on the upper end of B or lower end of A tier. Sadly he is just extremely dull to play in my experience, but that has nothing to do with strength of course.

oh, you changed your mind? it wasent too long ago that you were bitterly complaining about how weak geralt is?

or am i just getting early onset oldtimers?

TBF, Geralt is still but a Husk of how he played in 1.20, hence why I say he isn't a good character. (like, we're talking like how Azwel lost a lot of his competitive viability between 1.1 and 1.2)

Logic would say that Mitsurugi is a better pick if you are thinking about playing Geralt, though I personally couldn't get into him.

I still think he could use at least one major buff or a full 8.5x11" sheet's worth of minor buffs cuz his matchup spread is still looking iffy. It also does not help that he is reliant on Reversal Edge to maintain sign usage.

i like this. gets nerfed, loses "a lot of competitive viability," still remains the top of the tier list for most people.

ya it seems most people play pro like sonic fox: find the yet to be nerfed character; find the most viable frames that are broken compared to the rest of the roster; keep distance & use rinse repeat till opponent is anger = win.
in fairness, this is the basic strategy of high level play for any fighting game.

Is it wrong that I want Witcher themed CAS parts if Geralt ever gets buffed? Knowing the Nilfgaardian Scrotum Armor, probably

You're high if you think Geralt has a mediocre punish game.

"While Soul Charged" attacks are usually the safest moves in a given movelist
