The rank of theese players is no theme. You can choose filter options, play with player only with good "karma" or also with others.
See it as a possibilty. You can learn from this players.
Perhaps: A lot of players which have less success in Catan end to play. The better players play further, reach high ranks. Because of that the probability is high to meet high rank players.
As I see, you have 3 possibilities:
-Stop to play Catan.
-Playing, again and again. Loosing very often against high rank payers. In this time, you learn the game REALLY. Than you will get better, and you fight yourself through the ranks, to the top.
-Playing often single game, against AIs. I know, it´s not really a challenge, but you can learn much about the game.
Would you want a matchmaking with same ranks play together?
-Everybody would wait much longer till getting game partners.
-And, if you would be succesful against the other gold/silver players, you would get platinum. And then? You would have to fight against the hard platinum/diamond guys, without any experience with such rank players. (Like soccer, when teams win second league, and have to play next session in premier leauge.)
It could be a good idea, to implement a "rank filter". If someone want to play only against same rank, he should do.
I wouldn´t do that. I like the surprise at the end. I like it that all people meet them on the island, the greenhorns and the old veterans.
But I understand you. I started in the 90s with the board game, and me and my friends were all greenhorns. Playing again and again (and loosing often) against people like me could be frustrating.
Don´t forget: Would 3 people with the same intelligence and the same experience play many games together, everybody would loose 2 of 3 games!
I say it again: Try to learn from this players. What do they do? Why? Why settle they to 9/4/10 instead 6/3/12 ?
And what I say to all beginners:
Hear what the old man says:
YOU - SHOULD - TRADE - !
This is one of the dumbest of all comments I ever saw. Incoherent explanation of a broken software that is full of bugs, requires ZERO skills (only luck that a rigged dice provides very often). Stop posting under every legitimate comment because this software got the WORST DEVELOPER prize from Steam.
