playing a single player game

So I purchased the game on Steam. And I just want to play single player on my own the base game. And I have to purchase gold to play it OR play one time for free every 12 hours?

Do I have this correct?

How did you purchase the game on Steam? You buy the expansions in app, not on steam. You buy an expansion once and can play it as often as you want. I only paid for the expansions I play, I never use suns or whatever it is you have to use to play for free.

So, dug deeper and it is purchase gold to purchase the expansions. The base game is considered an expansion, which is misleading at best. You can download Catan for free on Steam, but need to pay $5 for the base game to play it unlimited.

Just make the game a purchase for $5 on steam to start and give the player the base game. This was a dumbass way to institute this.

If you don´t pay - You can play
Single player every 12 hours.
Free match (against people, but ever one the same map) as often you wanted.

If you buy "gold", you can buy with this "gold" base game, expansions, other games (p.e. Incas).
A game you have buyed, you can play as often you want, single player, multi player, if you want dozens times a day.
