Hi Wendekind, it doens´t matter if you unlock an expansion using a scroll for 24h or using Catan Gold (unlock for an unlimited amount of time). The AI isn´t influenced by that :)
Please stop trolling and sharing of factual wrong information, If you don´t like it fair enough. But spare the rest of the community with your hate.
Sorry but I wouldn't say it's a troll. This game is very poorly made. It's a board game yet somehow you've managed to turn it into a GPU-intensive, battery-hogging, slow-loading bloated piece of software which should run fast, lightweight and easy.
There are so many things wrong with it. The UI is clunky, and it should not require scrolling around. Little of the UI is intuitive, some of it plain doesnt' work, and some is just silly. Why am I even being shown trades that I cannot execute (because i dont have the cards the other player needs)? Why can I not make counter-offers?
This is not even to mention the sync issues, sever issues, general input lag and problems of game getting stuck or players disconnecting. This is JUST the base game's problems when everything is working correctly.
I really hope the guy who owns the rights to this game did not sign them to your company for a long time. In this day and age of software developers, some guy in his basement could figure out a better solution in 6 weeks than whatever it is you guys made here. The fact that nobody has made a good electronic version of this game is a shame because it could make tons of money but laziness and ineptitude have their own price as well.
According to the numerous posts in all forums, it is obvious that the game is buggy. The overwhelming majority of posts in Facebook, Steam, Reddit and forums are bug reports and people saying that they can not play.
And you are taking too long to fix the issues. And that you are not willing to fix some of the problems pointed out by the players (fixing ore for fool scenarios, fixing trading system by adding counter-offers, making the map generation use spiral method etc). Even if the problems have been repeatedly reported several times over the 2 years. And you do not give refunds citing shady reasons.
Really, if anyone wants to play the game more competitively, Catan Universe is horrible. Especially when compared to PlayCatan.
Telling me to "stop trolling" is just trying to make the critics stop pointing out issues that you are not willing or unable to fix. It can be factually proven that the game is buggy.
Without comment on @stroom's tone, I think we all have to agree that the game has proven spectacularly buggy since leaving beta. I haven't played very much since the last update, but the continuance of networking bugs (random kicktimer ejections, brown screens, different players seeing different versions of the board, and other deadlocks) have been continous. I haven't yet had a response to my bug reports that show the wrong number of unplayed peices in single player mode - your ID:55013 - reported in december. Maybe its fixed, maybe not, an email would have been nice though.
All in its been a pretty lousy experience of a great game.
Some releases nearly worked.
You very clearly never backed off a disasterous patch.
You never implemented the *helpful* suggestions by myself and Stroom to enable better capture of failed games.
The user interface is serviceable, but they seem to have chosen cute over functional which is a "no no" in board game ports. I especially dislike scrolling down to grab a development card, I'm sure there's a shortcut, but I can't be bothered to find out. There just needs to be a development card icon right next to the trade icon.
The game has improved a lot since launch and I don't see the need to insult the developers, the game is signifcantly improved from the last Steam Catan version that didn't even have multiplayer and was a crashfest.
