Broken Alliance will add an additional 8 missions to Deadlock, bringing it to 22 missions (18 if you bypass the tutorial) while also providing the Minerva battlestar and additional ships, offensive and defensive weapons. You can opt to buy the Reinforcement Pack for additional ships, but it is not essential.
Playing order is as follows:
1. Base game + Broken Alliance + Reinforcements (Optional, but the Berzerk is a solid early game ship)
2. Anabasis (Optional, but the Debris Mine it adds to your arsenal is incredibly useful in campaigns, also the Anabasis gamemode is extremely good if desperate running battles are your shtick)
3. Sins & Sacrifice
4. Resurrection
5. Ghost Fleet Offensive
6. Armistice
7. Second War ship pack (Optional, for skirmish, Anabasis and MP use)
So yeah, kick it off with the base game + Broken Alliance so you don't have to play the core campaign two times over (Once with and once without BA) and the Reinforcements pack if you fancy it (Reinforcements is the cheapest DLC iirc, so it's usually easy to throw in).
If you get solid enjoyment out of playing Base + BA, then carry on one piece at a time with Anabasis onwards.
