Autoresolve
I'm sorry, I feel a bit silly asking, because I assumed it would be easy to search up, but what is governing whether the autoresolve button appears? I'd like it use it a lot more often, but not sure how. Please help, thanks!

Auto-Resolve will appear only when it is an option, otherwise you are expected to fight the battle manually. If it is not visible, then you don't have that option. Usually, autoresolve will appear when you are facing a lot of battles concentrated into a short amount of time. However, you can opt to fight any battle manually. If Daidalos or the Galactica is attacked, you must fight manually.

Yeah, it's Daidalos. Gotta break away a force from it. Thanks!!
Keep the shipyard over a colony away from Helios Alpha/Beta and it should seldom be attacked. Galactica on the other hand wants to be in the thick of it.

Thanks a lot, gentlemen. 🤗

NOTE: Auto Battle Resolve results in significantly worse outcomes than if you fight the battle manually.

If you are like me; and don't like to lose ships: Fight each and every battle.

For a full campaign of season 1 (Broken alliance and Sin and Sacrifice; I seem to recall about 150 battles on first run throughs- - -> and I reached 250 battles on Broken alliance once when I was building uber fleets (in large quantities) for use in S&S).

There are actually tons of posts saying they fought battles where the odds were over 90 percent chance to lose and they still won. 😂 Lots of lopsided postings.

But that's okay. Even if they patched it, many of these battles are pretty boring. I can't fight so many similar battles. This isn't Total War or something.
Auto resolve can result in a lone manticore beating a whole basestar group but otherwise is indeed not the ideal option if you have ship veterancy enabled or if you have a chance to lose a ship.

What do you actually mean by saying a solo manticore beating a whole basestar group? How much more lopsided can it get where I would seriously want to think twice before fighting all but the most important battles? And I'm not planning on testing solo manticores like that. LOL

Hello Narrowmind. That actually happened to me. I had a lone adamant, Loki, that defeated an 11,600 Cylon Fleet and on the next battle beat a 9,600 fleet before being destroyed by a much smaller fleet. LOL. It happens, not often, but it happens.

Yeah, as said, I would never intentionally set myself up for such a lopsided battle, and I'm assuming you didn't do that either. But hey, sometimes things get fracked in war. 🤗

"Fortune favors the well prepared"

If a cylon group jumps on a colony where I have a single manticore - - -> I retreat (maybe after I run in and identify the fleet makeup. . .certainly don't trade punches.)
A battle group jumps in a turn or two later to deal with the threat (this applies to Beta, Gamma, Delta)

All the colonies in Alpha have fleets with at least two battlestars. . . .and are ready to rumble. Cylons pop in- -> I duke it out and fry 'em.

When "building fleets"; I do maintain a staging area for "new ships" and "Odd ducks" that no longer fit into the fighting fleets. There is at least one (if not two) battle groups at that world guarding the anchorage (i.e. if Cylons jump in. . . .I task it with a 2xbatttlestar group (not a lone adamant).

Yes sir.

It is true that the rewards are better if you fight the battles manually, if you are like me however and are fine with dragging out the campaign you can absolutely use the autoresolve( if you lose a ship just reload a save from before you lost that ship, since the game allows you to save before every battle there is no real downside in doing so). As long as you keep all your fleets at the same combat strenght you will almost always have a 100% chance to win and at most a 26% chance to lose a ship, atleast that´s what I´ve found playing the "broken alliance + deadlock" campaign on "commander" difficulty, where I currently have over 400 battles fought. What I´ve found is that the maximum strenght value of the cylon fleets( I.E. the strenght value of the most powerful cylon fleet) is tied to the maximum strenght value of your fleet( I.E. the strenght value of your strongest fleet.

I appreciate the tips. Thank you.

Personally, if the projected losses are 0% (Ie. the outcome of the battle is a foregone conclusion) I autoresolve; otherwise I play it out.
