Is it okay to play the DLC missions as well?
Which is why they became the Colonial Fleet mainstays.
Handy to have as a support, especially against lesser target as they chew them.
Majority of the damage comes from the Artemis and the torpedoes on my Rangers. For example in an average battle I see damage numbers of ~300 for the Artemis, ~200 for the Rangers, and ~100 or less for the Minotaurs.
I feel like I could keep the 2 Artemis + 2 Rangers set up and replace the Minotaurs with something else that can bring more than just guns to a battle. I mean they never get targeted by the AI, so their high HP doesn't help in the battle either. I almost want to try a fall back to Adamants for the added Fighter slots and more torpedoes (can never have enough torps!). That, or more battlestars.
7,750 fleet points: 2 Artemis, 3 Ranger, 2 Adamant
7,800 fleet points: 3 Artemis, 3 Ranger
8,000 fleet points: 2 Artemis, 2 Ranger, 2 Janus, 1 Minotaur
7,950 fleet points: 2 Artemis, 4 Ranger, 1 Berzerk
8,000 fleet points: 2 Artemis, 2 Ranger, 1 Janus, 1 Minerva
Base template I used for calculating all that is 2 Artemis, 2 Ranger equals 5,200 fleet points.
