Still no Mercury class in Campaign?
I used to play this game a LOT, but the glass ceiling at Jupiter class really put me off.

That's because the Mercury is a post-First Cylon War ship, as such it didn't exist yet at the time of the campaign.

You can get the Modern Ships Pack DLC which has the Mercury, but you can only use it in skirmish, etc.

Thank you for the reply. I already own every DLC available. I just don't play anymore. If they ever expand the game to include the Mercury in the main campaign then i will try it again. Anabasis was ok but i got tired of it.

I have all but Armistice and Modern Ships and haven't even started season 2 campaigns. I'm also on a hiatus from the game, but I am open to getting back to it when I want to spend the time. I made the mistake of challenging myself doing S+S on fleet admiral from scratch, which is quite a grind.

you can edit a saved game campaign file and replace any ship with the Mercury or valkyrie type ships.

I've heard that you can replace ships and put fire control officers into the campaign with save edits. How do you actually edit a game save file?

Same question here. I want to edit "supplies" into Anabasis so I can just make it into sort of an endless mode, fight wave after wave and when feeling at risk of losing a ship, just jump and repair since you have loads of supplies

Basically a money grab to have a DLC where you can only use it in Skirmish. That should have been a free update at best.

You can use it in Anabasis as well. Also you can just edit mercuries and valkyries into your fleet through save editing.

And how do you edit saves?

Due to the eula prohibiting "reverse-engineering" the game, discussing it in a public setting is not something one should do.

It is so for modding but does it also apply for save editing?

The easy question about this is: Did the deves give me a tool to do it?
If they did, then it is all good.
If they did not, then you have to dive into the code, which is literally reverse engineering, as you need to understand how it works, then change is to suit your needs.

Unlike some games, saves are editable by notepad so they didn't go out of their way to make it undoable without special tools either.

That might be, but you still can't do it without messing around in the game files either.
