Battlestar Valkyrie?
I thought the Valkyrie class played a huge role in the first Cylon war? As my favorite ship design of all time i'm honestly pretty sad it didn't make it in... The Valkyrie class is always being ignored and abused lol

You're absolutely right about that. It's always being abused. Which is why I am so damn happy that it's not in the game and I continue to hope that it'll not appear in the game in the forseeable future.

The only reason the Valkyrie was included in Blood and Chrome was because the production company wanted to save money and instead of designing a new battlestar, just nicked Valkyrie.

Valkyrie was (and in my opinion should continue to remain) a post-war, modern battlestar. Every other source, the episode Hero, Razor, the Plan, all show the Valkyrie as a modern battlestar, not a rust bucket from the first Cylon War. That fact alone would make her marginally younger than Galactica, which is the exact opposite Valkyrie was.

Valkyrie is described in Hero as a very prestigious assignment to command. Being removed from Valkyrie and given command of Galactica was for all intends and purposes a demotion for Adama. That does not work if the ship you're demoted from is only 5 years younger than the ship you're demoted to.

The interior of Valkyrie purposesly looks more like Pegasus than that of Galactica, because she was constructed with the same tech and knowledge that made Pegasus. Small engine housings and non-retractable flight pods, that's tech always explained as post-war.

Galactica was held in service because of the PR status of the ship, the first Jupiter class. She was taken out of front-line service 20 years after the war and struck from the roster 40 years after the war. It just does not add up that Valkyrie would be a ship selected for a Black Ops mission to Cylon lines and eventually ends up guarding Caprica during the Fall, 40 years after the war, when Galactica was practically decommissioned after 20 years.

So no, please, no Valkyrie in the first Cylon War. Post-War expansion including the Valkyrie, yes please. But she has no place in the first Cylon War.

What makes you think that?...

GHawkins, you are gods damn right! I hope they won't put Valkyrie in the FCW. You said all that was to said.

You are God's damned SOAB right GHawkins! According to the game lore,It could be right to say Valkyrie class, as a small less armoured Battlestar replaced Artemis after the Cylon war. As far as I understand, Valkyrie class is a tech jewel, which does not fit with late Cylon war.

Still makes me sad. All that happens with the Valkyrie in the new BSG (besides blood and chrome) is that 2 of them ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ die. Even in fan works they're abused; in Battlestar Prometheus it's the only Battlestar that's destroyed in the Copernicus Defense Fleet (After having it's hangar bay blown off in it's previous fight!). I suppose the same can be said for every other Colonial ship, but come on. The Valkyrie is so much better than damn Berzerk or Loki.
Also, the Defender took part in the first Cylon war as well; i'd absolutely love to see it in a future update or DLC (Edit; I know Defender isn't the actual name, just the closest thing we have to it other than "Wedge Ship")
