Any of the DLCs must haves?
Got the game a while ago when it was on sale, never played it, are any of the dlcs too important not to have?

Anabasis is alot of fun, it gives you a civ fleet to protect, if you like skimrishes i'd recomemend modern ships or reinforcment back. any of the campagin DLCs can be fun too.

to add to that, Broken alliance is fun

Try to get them all. But if you can't, start with Season One: Deadlock + Broken Alliance (Played together, not separately) and Sin and Sacrifice. Anabasis is also Season One, but is not really connected. It is a stand-alone "Challenge" DLC...very, very difficult. However, you can use the new Modern Ships DLC with it which makes it much easier to win.

The only "Must-have" DLC that I'd argue is Broken Alliance, as it plugs directly into the main campaign. Taking that prevents you from having to replay the main campaign a second time if you simply do it with the DLC enabled the first time.

Everything else is down to your enjoyment of Deadlock and if you feel it's worth investing into it after you've done the core campaign + BA.

I wish I saw this thread back when I bought the game when it was on sale along with all the dlcs.... I only got the Reinforcement Pack.....

They were on sale at Fanatical this weekend. edit: they still are today

I just picked up Broken Alliance after seeing a couple of posts like this one. Do I need to restart the campaign from the start to take advantage of this DLC or does it matter? I'm a few missions in so can restart but would rather not if its not 100% necessary.

Pretty sure you need to restart, if I'm recalling what I have read correctly.

Yes, if you want to play Broken Alliance, you MUST play it with Deadlock from the start. If you don't, you will have to replay Deadlock, again. The two are designed to work together. Broken Alliance cannot be played separately.
