Operation Anabasis
Can you guys let me know some fleet recommendations for Operation Anabasis? Is it possible that each difficulty have it own fleet layout? I mean, at the easiest difficulti you can just deploy what u want, but probably on medium or the hardest difficulti you have to think about to be more tactical.

I was tried a mixed fleet against cylons, using modern ships and old ships as well. The flagship is one Mercury-class battlestar, which is hell of a deadsentence against almost every cylon ship, except two basestar at once. I also have two Artemis-class, one Ranger-class, 1 Janus-class, 2 Adamant-class and one Minotaur., there's also a Manticore for scouting. All battlestar equipped with armor piercing missiles, from the three slots of the Janus, two is nuclear warhead just in case. I have a sweeper protecting the front of the fleet, one sweeper protecting the civilian ships. I usually doing flanking manuevers with the viper squadrons and use the Raptors for countering the hacks and also giving some support to the ships. If the cylons dumb enough to concentrate their ships (usually grouping in 3-4 ships) then I do a pincer movement).

I rly do like to ask for advices to improve tactics to be better and brave to start harder difficulty.

I beat the game on "Normal" twice with a Mercury battlestar, two Jupiter Mk IIs, two Janus cruisers, three Minotaurs, one Heracles and one extra Celestra. A Jupiter MkII, two Minotaurs and one Celestra made the final jump on the second try.

Playing the game on Normal or Hard will make the battle very defense-oriented. I carried only three Nukes, both Janus loaded with Debris Mines, Guided Missiles, Nukes and PCMs. A mix of Guided Missiles and Armor Piercers on the other ships.

I've never played the game on Hard and I've only played it three times on Normal; won two of them. The first time, only a Jupiter Mk II made it to Caprica. On Hard, the game is just too defense oriented and I really don't care to play the game like that.
I could do a big break down of how to approach Anabasis, how to use your ships well, the mindset for excelling at it, the big brain plays in what to do right and what to avoid, etc, etc, etc.

Instead of doing that, I'll just leave you with this:

6x Jupiter Mk II's with a full complement of Viper Mk II's and as many ARP's as you can stick onto the support slots. Make the whole thing a vertical stack. Have fun destroying anything that dares to come close to you whilst your doom stack wanders away.

Your fleet is a bit lack of squadrons, isn't it? Ofc at the beginning not too much enemy attacking with raiders but on later stages using assault raptors and maybe taypans could be effective, no?
Actually, I rarely even launched my Vipers. So they were not that essential. There are many ways to beat Anabasis. Wagglepuss has a good idea....with lots of Vipers.

BTW what are the secret locations? They're rly secret locations somewhere on each map?
I've never heard anything about secret locations. Could you be talking about Repair and Reload locations? After each battle, you will be asked where you want to jump next. You will have more than one choice.

You can take the default location or you can choose to take another in which you will have to bide your time to receive intel about the best jump you could make. Some locations will be easier or harder than others; one could even be a Repair and Reload location. If your Celestra and/or your Colonial freighter are destroyed, you will not be allowed to Repair and Reload.

That is all that I am aware of.

Even with the celestra and the freighter, some point doesn't allow me to repair my ships... also.

HOW can I get more salvages? Because as I reached the 4th "map", I only got 132 salvage. This clearly not enough as the Manticore needed 62 to resupply it's ammo and repair it's hull. Not to talk about the other ships.
I believe you obtain Salvage points by survival, rescuing Colonial ships and any Cylon ships you may destroy along the way. Also, not all destination points will allow Repair and Reload...only some of them. Make sure to keep beefing up any damaged armor with that Celestra. That will keep your fighting ships strong.

As far as use of the Manticore for scouting, I have almost 2,000 hours in on this game and have never used it. I have always used Vipers. Vipers are faster and a lot cheaper ( just be sure to recall your squadron before you jump) and - unless absolutely necessary - don't waste ammo on scouting missions. As a matter of fact, don't scout at all unless you intend to fight...which you should not do a lot of unless you can't avoid it.

I have consistently gone to at least the fifth or sixth map before firing a shot with anything other than artillery from my battlestars....remember, you never run out of artillery....and it's free.

U right... probably I could sell my Manticore and buy something other ship then. The only way when it's not wise to scout with vipers, when the unknown DRADIS could be a Celestra Gunship. That thing can wipe out a viper squadron within seconds.

That is true. Just keep your Vipers on the hangar deck and let your battlestars take care of whatever it is. Those Cerastes are a good reason why you should not deploy scouting missions unless you have to. A Cerastes will also kill a Manticore quickly.

Not just manticores... at the beginning of the game, when I don't know any tactics, five cerasters shredded my two Artemis-class Battlestar... They worse than the Revenants.
