What is the Crew Complement of Each Ship?
Hey there folks

Wars in Sci-Fi are usually very costly in terms of military personnel. As someone who tends to get emotionally invested in gameplay, I am somewhat curious as to what the appropriate crew complement is for each ship within the Colonial (And if possible, Cylon) Fleets. From time to time, I end up losing ships or making mistakes that cut a vessel's service short. I am very interested in figuring out how many crew are lost and possibly summing up the total costs of a Campaign or conflict.

The post war Jupiter Class has a standard crew complement of around 5,000 according to my understanding. The Mercury Class is twice the size, but roughly half the crew according to the extended version of the episode introducing Pegasus. Therefore, a Mercury Class likely has around 2,500.

If there are no official numbers, it might be possible to compare measurements with the Jupiter Class against those of other types within the game. Estimates as to crew complement might be drawn based upon the role of the ship, size and likely internal configuration. I can try to make these comparisons and guess as to their crew sizes if there is not much interest in the discussion.

In any case, I appreciate any help or discussion on this topic. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Thank you and please enjoy your day

Estimates
Jupiter Battlestar - 5,000 Personnel (Wiki, Estimated to be the Same During the War)
Atlas Carrier - 5,000 Personnel (My Estimate)
Minerva Battlestar - 4,500 Personnel (My Estimate)
Artemis Battlestar - 4,000 Personnel (My Estimate)
Minotaur Gunship - 2,000 Personnel (My Estimate)
Ranger Cruiser - 1,500 Personnel (My Estimate)
Janus Cruiser - 1,500 Personnel (My Estimate)
Adamant Frigate - 1,000 Personnel (My Estimate)
Berserk Carrier - 1,000 Personnel (My Estimate)
Manticore - 700 Personnel (My Estimate)
Celestra Support - 500 Personnel (My Estimate)

I second this. I must also know the true depth of my failures

I have come up with some estimates. These are likely not too accurate given my lack of knowledge on the maintaining of ships and standard crew complements, but I figured I would give it my best shot.

Jupiter Battlestar Post War - 5,000 (Stated on a wiki as the official crew complement of a standard Jupiter)
Jupiter Battlestar - 5,000 (The equipment on board may have changed throughout the war, but the crew complement possibly has remained fairly consistent)
Atlas Carrier - 5,000 (Seems slightly larger than a Jupiter and might maintain a similar crew, although the lack of flight pods might reflect a reduced capacity for other personnel)
Minerva Battlestar - 4,500 (Slightly smaller than the Jupiter and probably in need of roughly the same maintenence requirements)
Artemis Battlestar - 4,000 (Somewhat smaller than both the Jupiter and Mercury, but likely configured for similar crew requirements)
Mercury Battlestar Post War - 2,500 (In the extended version of an episode, it is said that these particular vessels are twice the size of a Jupiter and require about half the crew)
Minotaur Gunship - 2,000 (Fairly large and likely in need of many personnel to maintain and manage different sections of the vessel)
Ranger Cruiser - 1,500 (Fairly large ship, likely needing significant maintenence crews and armoury officers)
Janus Cruiser - 1,500 (Likely a similar situation to the Ranger. Lots of hull to manage and lots of arms to keep in good condition)
Adamant Frigate - 1,000 (Seems like a scaled down version of a Battlestar, requiring similar crew composition in a smaller ship)
Berserk Carrier - 1,000 (Dedicated fighter support. Requires good maintenence personnel and crews on the hanger deck, likely reflecting a somewhat similar configuration to the Adamant. Lower crew than estimated seems likely)
Manticore Corvette - 700 (The corvette needs to be maintained, armed and commanded... However it does not seem to have much need or space for extensive personnel)
Celestra Support - 500 (The Celestra likely focuses more on space for cargo than for personnel. Likely the bare minimum for maintaining the hull and systems are kept on station)

In any case, I will edit my initial post and throw these possible estimates in there. Hopefully some folks with more experience or knowledge will correct these guesses
