And a lot of us are fans of both. But the ship battles was better in the remake, so here we go.

I want that too. Until that play this and hopefully soon Diaspora Part 2 (Freespace Open Source TC). I see pics in the Hard Line Production Site about a classic but the guy have only old models and not much time to do a campaign :/

As a fan of Battlestar, the remake technology is way more what I'd expect of space flight.

Why waste suit energy on a forcefield helmet when you could use thick glass and keep the pilot alive longer

This game is trying to pay homage to both the old and the new. How about we allow them to try before we make any judgements, or prognostications?

Personally, I'd much rather have the original Galactica to fly around, rather than the Ribbed For Cylon Pleasure version.

The new series looked better because the better special effects, but much of the original series is more interesting. Would have prefered a remake that was closer to the original series.

In many ways the new series was showing signs of less imaginative minds, if you leave some of the cylon developments out - which in many ways took inspiration from P.K. ♥♥♥♥ and the like.

If the game is equal or less than E 29,99 I will buy on release, otherwise I'll wait.

The new one was amazing and is at the beginning of the revolution in great TV that we're living in right now. BSG will always be remembered for that.

Cannot remember what was so amazing, what was the revolution you are talking about?

Well at least you will get to see the origional battlestar in the game, im pretty sure the Artimus is the old battlestar from the 1970's tv show but with KEW's instead of red lasers. I myself think they got the era for the game just right, the 1970's and 2003 versions are just the Colonials running away were as in the first cylon war you can actually have fleet battles... makes sense to base the game on this era imo :)

If the ship limit per battle is 7 regardless of the officer skills it will be far too restrictive. I don't see the reasons for limiting the amount of ships per battle to 7 a side. The system resource drain surley isnt that demanding, i have played plenty of games with just as good visuals but with a ton more stuff going on like TW:WH for example. Also the fighter counts are too low, 20 vipers for a whole battlestar? The old Jupiter class had 90, not to mention the additional raptors...!! I hate to see dev's do this kind of thing as we now have the technology to implement much greater numbers. The real problem with this game is going to be its replay abilty i think due to the very similar battles. Most are going to feel very similar and with no economic/empire building all this game has to offer is the cinematic battles. That said i am looking forward to playing this game but i don't see myself spending 100's of hours in it either :)

I'm wondering how this will compare to the Homeworld full mod, to be honest. Relatedly, is that 20 individual fighters, or 20 flights/suadrons?
Steven Aug 7, 2017 @ 9:22am
atm its 2 sqaudrons with 10 fighters each, im hoping it can be mooded to make it 4 sqaudrons at least. I would rather add aditional sqaudrons than simply add more vipers per sqaudron. After all this is a BSG game and there should be tons of vipers and raiders duking it out per battle like on the tv shows :)

Yeah...I was thinking of the fighters from Homeworld, where each 'fighter' you build is actually a group of 5 that are manipulated as a single unit.

Not really played homeworld athough i do have it. In this game you control a sqaudron not individual fighters, you cannot send half the sqaudron off somewere else. It also seems as there is no retreat fuction so no jumping out of an unwinable situation...

Guys, can you tell me wich Galactica mod for Homeworld you are talking about?
I would like to check it out.
thanks
