Multiplayer DLC compatibility

Hey, does anyone know if both players need to have all the dlc in multiplayer to be able to each play with all the content (ships, maps etc)?

I'm not sure but I would guess that the twos players can play together but the one that hasn't the DLC wouldn't be able to play with the new toys but could fight them or along them.

Only the host (however creates the match) needs the DLC to enable a map to be used.
You'll need to own a DLC to add a ship to your fleet, and if the other player doesn't own it, they'll still be able to play against you, but won't able to add the same ship to there fleets.

What if you play with a partner against AI in a skirmish or any other mode (if there are any). Do they also have to buy DLC to get new ships?
