Also if you haven't looked into it you should use the wall technique. 2x Adamants stacked, 2-3x berserk stacked on the other side, away from enemy. All of these should be low compared to threats. Manticore(s) high up to define targets and help deal with immediate threats especially to berserks (berserks are actually my primary damage dealers till artemis, also not my idea). Unfortunately for a craft that benefits most from being high up its bottom armour is not very good.
Try this, when any Manticore gets targeted, bump the defence posture to max while the rest bump attack to max, rip the enemy apart while that one tanks. Gang up on the enemy, 3 Manticores to one, it'll pop fast. The only time I ever fear for my Manticores is if there are Raiders, which is why later game, they need Berzerk or Adamant support.
