I am concerned, too, that we lost the "strategic map" for a minimal version of it : you still have the systems, but do not choose where to go and so on.
We'll see with future DLC.
As for the story, it is quite good and I am eager to reach the end.
Can always play the earlier DLCs and main campaign, but without J2 or the other new items. I'll lend my voice to hoping in the future we can restore some of what was lost with the table, keeping the colonies happy, etc. If there was one major complaint about the new DLC, this would be it.
I think Resurrection takes place too early in the war for Adama to have joined. Also, I'm not sure if Deadlock's writers consider Blood and Chrome canon. Fans debate about it.
The Jupiter II makes for an expensive addition to the fleet and really chews up the points. My preferred late game fleet is 1 jupiter and two arties and there's not much room for anything else after that.
