And as i understand it, the developers didn´t really create BSGD with mods in mind and thus it might not be easy to "free it up" for modding...
Why they chose that goes beyond my understanding but Unity is mostly favoured by Indie devs and amateurs. Seeing that they're just a tiny Studio and more appearing like a gang of hobby modders instead some money greedy EA monstrum that don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about their player base I'm afraid we have to life with the limitations they're giving us.
Anyway I'm sure Deadlock has been a big hit on sales. One can only hope that they will switch engines for a potential Deadlock2 after they're done with their dlc milking. UT4 Engine, Frostbite for deadlock2 or any other future product. Those engines can pretty much handle anything from shooters to rts to x4 type of games.
A game without modding support is a short lived game and attracts much less buyers over the duration of months if not years to come.
Agree with this 100%...I would love to purchase this game but Im already in a life time commitment with Paradox's Stellaris and cant afford another game that only improves with DLC.
Heh, if you wait for Stellaris, probably you will have some grand children.. i am at same boat and it looks like an unlimited ocean.. They are making good things here and there but those take years.
