Fleet Names

Does anyone else have awesome names for their fleets? I like using very Formal names for Large Fleet groups ( Strike Force Alpha, etc). but i love using more "informal" names for smaller task groups (ex. the late Lt. Colonel Greenwood's fleet "Greenwood's Hunters", "Task Force Apollo" defends Caprica, "Hermes' Wings" is the carrier defense group of Aquaria etc.)

I usually stay formal all the way; Task Force [lead ship name] for any fleet groups consisting of corvettes, frigates, cruisers or gunships, Carrier Group [lead ship name] for anything with an Atlas and Battlestar Group [Battlestar name] for anything with battlestars.

I just refer to my fleets as (1st Colonial Squadron, 2nd Colonial Squadron, etc) using the old Navy adage of squadrons, as I don't really see these as fleet...I see you all of the squadrons together as a fleet, or maybe 2 or 3 fleets, but not that individual groups of ships.

Once you get to 4-5 fleets, naming helps you keep track of who is who. Group 1 is top left Group 2 is top right etc.

My current game i have 9 fleets including Diadalos, all are capped at 2000 points right now except Big D, and the Gemenon Defense Group. I've only just finished the mission where you get MK IIs but i have 13 commanders, I'm trying to fortify all colonies to just immediately intercept Cylons, while continually replacing the commanders in a rotating fashion in order to spread out some of the experience. I have Helios Alpha and Gamma Locked Down, and about 200 Tylium per turn income. It has become Very important to know which fleet is where so they have all been named after there home colony.

Having a group lead by a Battlestar gives it a BSG designation in my games, if it's lead by a Carrier it's a CSG (Carrier Strike Group) and anything else is just simply a Task Force/TF.

Im going with fleet names from Warhammer 40K
Battlefleet Agripinna, Gothic, Obscuras, Sol Ect...

All my ship's groups are named according to BSG cannon. I am a hardcore fan of the reimagined series and I would say the Cnel Saul Tigh type.

Battlestar group : BSG-##
Frigate group: FRG-##
Cruiser group : CRG-##

Etc..
