I wish they made a cannon reboot of BSG
Yes canon, because a reboot does not necessarily mean an alternate or new story, simply just taking the core elements and making it a new or continued/preceding plot...

Damn that serie was amazing, had great cinematography and writing even if the FX were cheap back then, what would it be with modern TV writing and effects!

As for this game...I don't trust slitherine cylons

Uh, there's a huge difference between criticism and random trash talk, any sane person knows that.

Also, there's a thing called "moderation". When something gets overused, it becomes stale and cheap. Sex scenes, jokes, clichès, everything. I'm not criticizing *one* thing I dislike about the series because it's about love stories and sex scenes per se, but only because they were put too often, and even so cheaply it became more unfitting and cheesy than the opposite at times.

At least the directors really enjoyed seeing Number Six naked while shooting each episode :Rubber_Duck:

Random trash talk is part of the beauty and energy of argumentation.

I didn't find that romance and sex scene were overused, they may not be as well written and subtle as a great romance drama movie, but I think the different kinds of dynamics and sensibilities were well portrayed. Gaius Baltar and his erotic/sexual obsession with a hot cylons is a classic archetype for intellectual/philosophical characters, the more sensible story between Starbuck and Appolo as well, even the 50 y.o romance between the commander and the president.

Also because generally we underestimate the underlaying importance of solitude, romance and sex under dynamics of drives, politics, challenges etc...and I'd rather have a show that doesn't shy away from it as long as it is not exaggerated or too cheesy (I mean look at True Blood or Lost...) than a stupid pretentious "hard" action, sci-fi of horror movies that overdoes the drama, cries and seriousness.

Now that's the kind of posts I like, thank you.
That's a good observation, I'll give you that. I'm personally not a fan of soap-opera moments though. I mean I like how they made Gaius Baltar basically the Casanova of the series and portrayed Helo/Athena and Adama/President (which wasn't overdone) relationships, but I found the relationship between Starbuck and Apollo and Number Six's "moments" kinda unfitting and random at times. But that's just me. I enjoyed the show mostly for the "feeling of survival" and the overall story.

Both incarnations of the show had its good and bad points. In the old it felt they made more of an effort to make a unique culture and styles (a big collage of egyptian, greek, jewish inspirations etc), but there were lots of problems as well (don't mention the books or anything now, just talking about the show) the biggest one was they never explained what made Baltar want to exterminate his own kind.. and then somehow lead the Cylon pursuit fleet.

In the newer show, they are americans plain and simple.. with a few offhand mentions of greek gods and whatnot. The tech is rather more primitive than in the old if you discount the FTL capability, in Carpica they even use VCR tapes for crying out loud. And ofcourse Cylon are now the BSG version of Skynet.

I did too, the feeling of survival is one of the main interesting strand, but the fact that they made the human parts, with character development, casual friendship and romance (except Batlar/9), and politics, activism etc...so mundane is what makes it so immersive and real for me.

I agree, don't get me wrong. All those things were done well in the show. I'm not saying romance and sex scenes are*always* a bad thing, just like character development and politics it was done well and mostly done when necessary, just *sometimes* I felt it was out of place, making the show a bit tedious/boring to watch. Not really a major con nonetheless.
As much as I liked the show, I can't help but laugh at the original Starbuck for calling the reboot "♥♥♥♥♥♥ by a Cylon" and "softcore sci-fi porn". It's funny because it's true.

I agree with Starbuck's description of it as "softcore sci-fi pron". Unfortunately this is what every TV series is now. But I will say that Battlestar Galactica did not have anywhere near as much of it as something like game of thrones. It was more on the level of the walking dead.

I actually find it funny people are saying the new series went all wierd and religious. Battlestar galactica TOS took heavily from the mormon religion and its creator was a devout mormon (which is wierd because I know some of them won't even watch TV) for some of it's loose story telling. The new show took from lots of religions and the creator had very little idea about mormonism.
Having read this I now know why the original helmets looked egyptian.

""I was aware that Glen had used Mormon influences and how he had created the cosmology, but I'm not that familiar with Mormon belief or practice so it was kind of like whatever was in the show is what I was dealing with," concedes Moore, who also worked on the "Star Trek" franchise. "I essentially looked at the original series as mythos and the way it dealt with religion in sort of a global sense."

Taking inspiration from a post-9/11 world, the religious universe of the new "Battlestar Galactica" is as diverse and as complex as our own.

The refugee humans, the Colonials, are polytheists in the mold of the Romans and Greeks, while their creations, the mechanical Cylons, have a strict belief in a singular God and in the soul, and are on a mission to eradicate the non-believing humans.

And at the end we see tha all of this fanatics religions are wrong. There is a god bot he is something other and much bigger. Or you can say that god is every religion.

Also nBSG has a lot emotional depth in it witzh real humans(höhö) have real emotions.

I love viewing this video:
