Like you said, I'd get it for completion's sake but that's about it.
1. I don't need to have "more knowledge" to have an opinion that differs from yours. I have enough knowledge about the games to know that I can decide which one I like better.
2. You're not like some "benchmark" to prove if somebody is "good enough". What if you're not as good as someone else who has played as much as you? What if you're naturally good at fighters and thus better than others who put the same amount of hours into the game? Beating or being beat by you doesn't prove anything.
3. I've 100%ed the game (twice), I've fought and beat the developers of the game (three times), and I've had respectable matches with some of the top players of the series past and present. I've done plenty to show that I'm experienced with the game, I don't need to do anything more.
You don't get to decide that someone's "opinion is invalid" based on your own preconceived requirements. That's not how opinions work. You're perfectly welcome to say that Generations is better than STORM 3, and I wouldn't tell you that you're wrong, because that's how opinions work. Just like how I'm free to prefer STORM 3 to Generations.
1. I prefer the character/mechanic balance. The stuff that annoys me in STORM 3 (certain instant awakenings, for example) annoys me less than the stuff that annoys me in Generations (certain exploits, tilt cancels, and an item that literally lets your opponent one-shot you most of the time).
2. I much prefer the story mode. Generations just felt like a recap, whereas 3 felt like you were advancing the plot (though I still think 1 has probably the best story mode)
3. I liked the additional costumes in 3. It's a minor detail but I like them.
4. The roster. There were a few characters in 3 that I really wanted in Gen but didn't get.
I haven't played STORM 3 for about 2 years (and Generations for even longer) so that's all I can recall off the top of my head.
