This is the detailed changelog for the Halloween update. If you missed the main announcement with the event, skins and Supporter Pack, start HERE. Below is everything under the hood.

• Pumpkins are the main source. Carry one back to the boat whole, or smash it and about a dozen candies spill out. There are only a few on the first levels, and more the further you go

• Enemies drop a few candies too

• You carry candy in your hands, just like coins. It doesn’t count toward the quota and has no coin value: it’s a separate treasure that’s all yours

• Candy has to make it back to the boat. Everything delivered is credited to every player in the session. It isn’t split between you, it’s copied: if one person hauls in a full cart, everyone gets the whole amount

• The monkey carrier helps out as well: hand your candy to it, and it delivers the candy and credits it to you

• Four Halloween sets, each with a head, torso and legs

• Twenty body patterns: tattoos and eyes

• A skeleton with a sign waits next to the boat. It shows how much candy you’ve collected in total, your place in the overall ranking and how full your progress bar is

• Only candy you deliver yourself counts toward the leaderboard. The shared team total doesn’t, so the sign shows who really did the hauling

• Two new sky moods: blood moonlight and a purple sky. The fog, the moon’s path on the water and even the glow of the dead tree by the castle entrance follow the weather

• Pumpkins with different faces all over the levels, cobwebs in room corners on the beach, on the ships and in the castle

• The card table got dressed up for the holiday, and the Cracken found itself a witch hat

• Three new scares join the monkey and the bats: a bony hand, a ghost skull and a whole skeleton

• The screen now shakes when any of them jumps out

• The Loadout window has been redrawn with new panels, cleaner alignment and tidier lists

• Text at the card table now switches with the game language, and the hint about changing card rows is translated

• Added a recommended purchase: the cauldron first, then the cart, then the monkey

• Clients no longer get disconnected on the way to the shop

• A disconnected player’s cards now leave the table with them

• Joining by code now works both from a level and from the lobby. If the team can’t take you, you’ll see a clear “session already in progress” message instead of an error

• Fixed a case where the game treated two different computers as one player

• Items under furniture can finally be picked up, and the remaining safe-zone gaps are closed

• The guillotine no longer plays the execution sound when it chops items

• Added colliders to the spots where players got stuck in the flooded room

• Hand movement no longer depends on the frame rate

Trick or treat, and see you on the islands.

The Halloween event is live, and it runs until November 9. Monsters are dropping candy, the levels are decked out for the season, and a set of limited skins is waiting in the shop!

Take a quick look before you dive in: pumpkins hiding all over the islands, candy turning into Halloween costumes, and a blood-red moon hanging over it all.

Monsters now drop candy, and pumpkins around the levels are packed with it. Every piece you bring back counts for the whole team: deliver one, and everyone in the session gets it.

Every candy you collect during the event counts toward the Steam leaderboard. The TOP 10 players get the Supporter Pack for free.

Want to back the team and look good doing it? The Supporter Pack is a new DLC with four unique skins. Thank you for sticking with us all this time, for every bug report, every idea and every friend you’ve dragged onto the islands. Your support is what keeps Last Pirates growing.

Still on the shore? Grab the new Last Pirates + Supporter Pack bundle and save on both.

In case you missed it, meta-progression is NOW part of the main game. Coins from the quota are yours personally and stay with you between runs.

Spend them on upgrade cards to unlock the cauldron, the cart, weapons, tools, potions and even your own booty for good. Before each level, everyone lays cards into shared slots on the table, and a wiped team can vote to restart the day instead of losing the run.

Spend your candy on Halloween skins in the shop. They’re only around for the event: after November 9 they leave the shop, but whatever you’ve bought stays yours for good.

Not into full costumes? The shop also has a set of carved patterns, from stormy waves and tentacles to seashells and coral, so your pirate can stand out in a more subtle way.

Halloween reaches every corner of the game, from the very first screen to the last chest you open.

• A spooky main menu greets you as soon as you launch the game

• Halloween weather rolls in at random, so each run can look different, sometimes under a blood-red moon

• Pumpkins and eerie decor all over the levels

• Fresh scares hiding in chests, and they pop up more often

• Creepier music and ambient sounds to set the mood

Last Pirates now has its own corner in the Steam Points Shop. Dress up your profile with 6 stickers, 3 animated profile backgrounds, 3 mini-profile backgrounds, 5 avatar frames and 5 animated avatars. There’s also a Steam Deck startup movie and the Shore Service game profile bundle.

Trading cards are here too: 8 cards to collect while you play, 6 badges, 10 profile backgrounds and 10 emoticons.

Haven’t played in a while? Meta-progression is in: coins and upgrade cards now stay between runs. Share your ideas on our Discord[discord.gg], and don’t miss our Halloween Art Contest.

Trick or treat, and see you on the islands.
