Daimyo Dragon as Mouse-Man?

What would happen if I, for whatever reason, did that? Would I just get that form and be prevented from clearing >that one room< until I got Lion-Man? Is it even possible to pull off?

You can't jump high enough to hit Daimyo as mouse man, so you would die.

but it is possible to get in there as mouse-man or piranha-man

if you were able to kill Daimyo it would transform you into hawk-man skipping right over lion-man though.

Maybe with a large enough supply magic doesn't do much damage to bosses and I recall the original game had to some bugs if magic is used for the final hit, haven't tested in the remake.

Edit: tested, it's do-able but you need to be good at dodging attacks, need a big stockpile of magic (everything but arrows can hit) magic only does 1 damage every other hit or so though.

might not be faster than simply rushing though captain dragon though

I was also going to make a topic about this, but this one already exists so I'll just reuse it.

You can definitely get to Daimyo Dragon immediately after getting the ability to break blocks, but before getting Lion Man, I've done it. Also, the fireball spell can hit him. I just didn't have enough to kill (I think you'd need about 50-75). I was just wondering if anyone has actually done it and whether or not it allows you to skip Lion Man entirely.

As edited above, I've tested it, but as mouse-man with the equipment I had access to, magic was only doing 1hp of damage to the boss, all magic except for the arrows can hit him, but you will still need a lot I think in my testing I ended up using 99 fireballs + some other magic but I also spammed them a bit and it seems like he won't take more than 1hp every few seconds so extra magic hits just do 0

It will turn you into hawkman when you beat the fight but you need lion-man for the final area of the game, unsure if it will let you become lion (I suspect it will though) will test this aspect soon and report back

Edit: as expected beating Daimyo as mouse-man does unlock lion-man while skipping over him, so you can skip captain entirely

but the amount you need to grind for gold/magic to do it honestly takes more time than simply doing captain (I cheated a little to farm up gold quicker than normally possible for testing)

Another strategy is to switch back to Lizard-Man using the Tasmanian sword, and then Daimyo is easier to reach.

I'm fairly certain that neither Lizard Man nor Fish Man can hit Daimyo with their basic attacks. Cool that it is possible though. I was hoping it would unlock Hawk Man without giving you Lion Man, letting you have an odd-looking save file that skips over a character.

In the original 1989 version you could beat Daimyo with only lizzard man, skipping mouse, piranha and lion-man, by collecting 99 stones and using the secret door. Its really difficult but can be done. In the remake you need Piranha man, thunder ring and tasmanian sword to transform back to lizzard man,to reach and to beat Daimyo, skipping lion man.

NB: As a little secret we made it that if you load a SMS password the SMS charm stones are counted so a SMS password with 99 stones will allow you to open the doors.

If you know the swim glitch you can go direct from Piranha-man to Hawk-man before you even get the thunder ring, but it's not that helpful as it's not permanent Hawk-man

I managed to kill the Daimyo Dragon by using the Tasmanian Sword.
Changed to Dragon form and used the dragon-breath-fireballs.

Got really confused when I got Bird AND Lion form after the fight :)

Unfortunately this means I now can't do the Lion boss :/

You should be able to by beating the final boss I think.
