Hello Panda, did you keep OPTIONS>VIDEO Frame Limiter option enabled? It should normally do exactly that aka keep the game at 60 Hz.
It has a bug above 60hz.
The goal of a 144hz screen is to play in 144fps to gain fluidity
Alternatively you could have the game try to switch to 60 Hz on startup and switch back when finish rather than just using the desktop refresh rate.
