FAQ / Frequently Asked Questions
WILL UPDATE THIS POST WITH QUESTIONS AS THEY COME.

When booting, the game creates a wb.log in the exe64/ folder (or exe32/ if you are running a 32-bit OS). We may ask you for infos from this file to troubleshoot issues if you have them. Looking at the file might also help you understand how the game is initializating or detecting your hardware..

Please be understanding that it is hard to get a PC game perfect on Day 1 in terms of compatibility, performances, etc. especially for a small team like ours. Bt we will be listening to your feedback and try to fix issues that are reported as we go on!

This discussion forum should be a safe and happy space. Please, no rude words, trolling, etc. We may occasionally have to act upon messages that are out of control. This is the best.

When is the release date?
The game is now out for Steam!
You can also find it on GOG.

Is the soundtrack available?
Yes! We now have the OST available as a DLC. It includes 33 game tracks + 56 bonus tracks. You can also find it on Bandcamp outside of Steam. See https://dotemu.bandcamp.com/album/wonder-boy-the-dragons-trap.

Linux, Mac?
Yes!

What graphics card do I need?
You need a DX11 compatible graphics card. The game should run well on most NVIDIA/AMD cards. On lower end cards and Intel HD Graphics (integrated card), you will need to reduce the resolution (see Backbuffer Resolution below). The minimum graphics card required is Intel HD ~4000 gen. Check that your graphics cards has at least ~450 points in the Passmark G3D Mark benchmak. https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php

Having performance issues?
You can adjust the internal rendering buffer resolution in OPTIONS > VIDEO > BACKBUFFER RESOLUTION. In particular, it will probably be useful if you are using an Intel HD Graphics type of card (integrated graphics cards). For example, setting the backbuffer resolution to 80% or 90% may be enough for you.

Users of screens that don't refresh at 60 Hz (e.g. 75 Hz, 144 Hz).
Please make sure that OPTIONS > VIDEO > FRAME LIMITER is kept active. You may also want/need to disable OPTIONS > VIDEO > VSYNC. The game always refresh at 60 Hz.

Which controllers are supported?
Any xinput controller are supported by default (Xbox One, Xbox 360, Steam Controller) + PS4 controllers. For other controllers we are supporting direct-input, you will need to remap keys in the menu. Please note that DirectInput controllers needs explicit mapping in the OPTIONS menus to be usable.
If your controller is detected by the game but you are still having issues, you may run the game with the -toolinputs command-line parameter (click Properties then Set Launch Options then enter "-toolinputs" in the box) to enable a debug tools that will help you visualize the controller data the game is seeing.

I am a getting an "Unknown Save Error" when starting a new game...
Check if your anti-virus is blocking the game from saving a file in your documents folder. You may temporary disable your anti-virus to confirm the cause, then see if it has an option to authorize the game to write save files. You may edit the bin_pc/Config/Settings.cfg file and look for Savegame path override options there.
