This is the biggest Piworld update yet. The world now has 11 towns, each with its own villagers, stories and a reward for the people who live there. The update also brings alliances, a class pick, town ranks, junk, 14 new crops, the free Sailing Longboat, farming and new pets. The server build changed, so update the game to join the servers.

The first town, The Halt, stands next to the newcomers' camp. Ten more wait in their own biomes, from Patchwork in the desert and snowy Thawhollow to Swellmoor, a town of rafts on the open sea.

• Towns grow with the players. Bring resources to the Project Board and the town rises from level 1 to level 5: new houses, streets, lights and villagers.

• 24 villagers in every town. Each has a character, a daily routine and a story. Do their requests: requests pay coins.

• Gifts and friendship. Hold an item and press E next to a villager. At 2, 4, 6 and 8 hearts a villager shows you a scene from their life.

• Letters, birthdays and wishes. Villagers write you letters, invite you to a party at the fire and sometimes make a wish.

• The villager book (H) shows every villager: where they are now, what they like and how many hearts you have.

• Become a resident. Do the guide's three tasks and get the town's bonus, such as boat speed in Oarhaven or extra ore in Undermount. The bonus grows with the town's level.

• Alliances of up to 4 players. The founder invites players from the players panel. Allies' names are green, and the map and the compass show them at any distance.

• Shared totems and chat. Each member's totems let all of you in, turrets do not shoot allies, and the «Clan» tab is for the alliance only. Boss loot goes to one of you, XP to all.

• Choose your class. Elf, Orc, Human, Vampire, Robot or Dwarf. Each has its own look, its own strengths and weaknesses. You pick once per world.

• Heroes against villains. A player with hero reputation hits bandits and villains 1.6 times harder.

• Six stories across the towns. Each one leads from town to town. A story starts at 3 hearts with its first villager. The goal column shows the next step, and a compass mark leads the way.

• Grey Statues and choices. In one story you break three Grey Statues, and each one calls waves of monsters. In some stories you pick a side, and your choice decides the reward.

• Town ranks. Building, tasks, requests, letters, gifts and defence raise your rank from Stranger to Legend. Ranks open the town shop, the town banner, a 15% discount and a title over your name.

• Rival towns. Five pairs of towns are rivals. When your rank grows in one town, you lose 20% of that gain in its rival. Your class gives you a home town, where you start as Known.

• Junk and the recycler. Junk bites on the fishing line, washes ashore at dawn and lies in heaps near towns. The recycler takes it apart into scrap metal, glass, rags, bones and wood chips, sometimes with a find.

• 14 new crops, two for each biome. Wild bushes give the seeds. Away from its home biome a crop grows half as fast, unless a greenhouse stands near. The harvest cooks into 7 new pot dishes.

• Sailing Longboat. A free boat for 4 players, faster than the wooden boat and steadier in a storm.

• Viking Pack (DLC). Its three drakkars are now looks of the Sailing Longboat, with the same speed and the same recipe. At night their lights burn and lay a path on the water. A look gives no power.

• Farming. Catch animals with the net, keep them in a barn or a chicken coop, feed them by hand and collect eggs, milk, wool and truffles.

• Better crops. Sprinklers, compost, a beehive, a windmill and a greenhouse. Compost gives silver, gold and rune quality crops.

• Pets. The hamster, the bibird, the slime and the crow. Find an egg, hatch it in the incubator and merge three of the same into one of a higher rarity.

• Trash Can. Put in what you do not need and hold the valve for 1 second.

• Graphics setting (Low, Medium, High) for weaker PCs, and the Z key hides the goal column.

• Hunger runs twice as fast, and berries and mushrooms feed less.

• Fewer wild animals: up to 6 of one kind near a player.

• Up to 16 turrets per player, and up to 16 for a whole alliance.

• Stronger base defence: a turret's miss goes back into the chamber, prickly walls hurt more, and a raider's tool barely scratches walls.

• Wild events start at a random place and no longer give away someone's base.

• Your skin, eyes and DLC look are kept in your account and are the same on every server.

• The Royal Boat can no longer be crafted: the Sailing Longboat took its place. Boats you already built stay.

• A sleeping character in the newcomers' camp lives 24 hours, not 6.

• In your own world, town projects ask for 4 times fewer resources, and the world saves every 2 minutes.

• Less clutter on screen: the bag, the journal and the blueprint book hide the HUD, F3 shows FPS and ping, and notices at the top no longer overlap.

• The bestiary can now be completed.

• A sleeping character keeps its skin after a restart.

• The fog on the map no longer comes back after a crash during a save.

• The furnace window no longer covers the bag, and the Viking sword has the right icon.

• A trader tells you when your bag is full.

• Flat objects and effects no longer cast stripes of shadow.

• The death screen no longer follows you into another world.

• The reward map opens the nearest place you have not seen yet, not a random point at the edge of the map.

• A town no longer grows over players' buildings.
