Chaperone bounds off:
Delete all text in the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\steamvr.vrsettings
Add only this and save
{
"collisionBounds" : {
"CollisionBoundsColorGammaA" : 0,
"CollisionBoundsStyle" : 4
},
"steamvr" : {
"allowReprojection" : true,
"background" : "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\SteamVR\\resources\\backgrounds\\viveNight.png",
"basestationPowerManagement" : true,
"mirrorViewGeometry" : "0 0 1080 600",
"playAreaColor" : "#FFFFFF00",
"renderTargetMultiplier" : 1.0
}
}
The blue circle at your feet is an indication from the chaperone system to let you know where you are approximately in your play area. If you correctly center your headset before playing, you can always look down at your feet ingame and readjust your position without taking off the headset.
Agreed 100%
Did anyone manage to get rid of that circle? it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. It makes me not want to buy any other vr game on Steam ever again. I don't have a "developer" option, only "beginner" so that suggestion did not work for me.
I can't tell you the values right now as I am at work but send me a private message if you want and I can email you the file for you to paste it and get rid of the circle.
check this out: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/138739-how-to-remove-the-annoying-immersion-breaking-blue-circle/
this is what you need to do (taken from the previous link):
1) close all steam VR applications
2) make a copy of the file "chaperone_info.vrchap" in your "steam/config" folder for safety reasons.
3) then open the file "chaperone_info.vrchap" and remove all Content in the line "collision bounds" within the brackets.
for example:
when the Content in your file Looks like this:
"collision_bounds" : [
[
[ -0.49999994039535522, 0, -0.50000005960464478 ],
[ -0.49999994039535522, 2.4300000667572021, -0.50000005960464478 ],
[ -0.49999997019767761, 2.4300000667572021, 0.5 ],
[ -0.49999997019767761, 0, 0.5 ]
],
[
[ -0.49999997019767761, 0, 0.5 ],
[ -0.49999997019767761, 2.4300000667572021, 0.5 ],
[ 0.49999991059303284, 2.4300000667572021, 0.5 ],
[ 0.49999991059303284, 0, 0.5 ]
],
then remove all Content until it looks like this: "collision_bounds" : [],
the next line has to be: "play_area" : [ ……. and so on ]
That's what I did and it worked perfectly. Open that chaperone_info.vrchap file with notepad, remove all the numbers and that's it.
I keep a copy of the original and also a copy of the modified file. That way in case you ever reinstall steam you can get rid of the circle again by just dropping the modified file into the config folder.
Good to know, I wouldn't be surprised if the other workaround stops working with the next update either. I hate the f*** circle.
This worked for me, thanks Mr. Bastard. Just wanted to post to confirm and 'upvote' your solution, so to speak.
(at the time of this post, I am using HTC Vive Pro, SteamVR Beta 1.3.23)
Cheers mate works like charm!
