Why would you want to play on steam. A client is better.

But it is the same client, just launching from steam, right?

Yes, the reason we will not do it is because it is the exact same game, with the same servers.

Please add the linking. On Steam I have auto-update, can see what others do and boost Therian play time (helps actually selling games you know?) and for the browser I have that annoying thing where I have to re-download from scratch every so often.

linking the game accounts together would be very beneficial in that it would significantly boost the steam game stats making it show up has a more popular game so others will be more likely to give it a try.

There's a reason every other multiplayer game that's been ported to Steam allows you to either link your Steam account or to login with your existing account, if you had played it before outside of Steam.

Why fragment the already low playerbase even more?

These are good points, i'll discuss with the team, there are some other considerations that we need to check too.

Awesome I am glad that you are looking into this. Also it would be awesome if you could increase the number of characters on one account from 5 to 8 or 10.

I also would like to consider the other way around. If I have started playing on Steam and would like to continue on Browser (due to a change to MAC) then I cannot continue playing because I will never be able to login again as long as MAC is not supported for this game on steam.
It should be possible to login with the steam account on the website.

If I got this right the user-table is the same anyway, so there should not be a problem regarding duplicated accounts. If there are any, you could offer a database change for those duplicates, so they can rename. I really do not see any reasons why there should be two different userbases for exact the same content. As others said before:

  1. Less amount of players in steam statistics
->Will result in less reviews (all old players can not write reviews)
->Will result in worse reviews (new players tend to give negative results more often then old ones, who already understand the idea of the game and play it for years for a reason)
    ->Will result in less advertising/trending/attraction
  2. Old players have to start over again
  3. New players are forced to use windows since there is no mac support for steam on this game
  4. Loosing all the benefits of steam for old players (achievements, cards, advertising through friends, easy steam overlay purchases, sales, etc.)
  5. ... this list could be continued with at least another five arguments

Happy that you will look into it and really looking forward to use my steam account to login on the website.

Oh and btw.: Please also consider a mobile client. That would be even more awesome!

A mobile version of the game might be a bit too much right now, but it would be cool of we could have a simple alert app that would notify us when ever one of our characters has an empty job queue

Or something like that yes. Maybe the first version could include to give the char basic jobs like chopping wood, returning home, sleep and so on ... no quest stuff or complex jobs or travelling itself. Just to do basic stuff on the place where you are now or return home.

Hi, I will not make any promise here, but I also think a mobile companion would be the first thing to do it we were to target the mobile world.

Just so you know, we are monitoring our progress with Steam this week, then we will be confirming our planning for the coming months.

So keep sharing us your thoughts, it's the best way to help us.
