Yeah, it's not exactly a happy ending, but if you want to look at it in a more positive way, at least by accepting her life as a forgotling, she had people she cared about, and who cared about her, she was able to ultimately do good for those people, and improve the lives of those who were forgotten by society.
If she turns her back to that, and chases the idealistic human world, she'll just be abandoned again.
Yeah, that's a good point, but... I cannot take my mind out of the fact that she will never be able to see her real world again :(
Well, you have a good point of view about the situation, maybe she is indeed happier with the Forgottlings.
I guess in this case is sad ending and sad, slightly happy ending.
