[SOLVED]Game causing problems with screens gamma
Has anyone had this happen before? Any time I run this game, my in game gamma changes until all of the darks are pitch black, and all of the bright whites, like in toy box are insanely white, it even affects the steam overlay, making it into a super dark grey. Even when I quit the game, my screens gamma is still put off, so my screen looks like it has a white overlay until i restart the PC

I also have the same problem.

What kind of monitor do you have?
I've found that it's just my monitor that's doing this, a HP Pavillion 27xi, if I move any screenshots taken onto another screen, they look perfectly fine. So I've gathered that my monitor is making these changes just because the game is open. And running any other game will reset my screen back to normal. I've updated my monitors Drivers too. So I'm not sure.

Did updating the monitor drivers work?
DamianHowardUHD Jun 25, 2017 @ 2:55pm
@MasterOfPie Did you manage to fix the issue? I've just bought the game i the Steam Summer Sale and loaded it up and the gamma is all messed up. You can tell the colours and what they're supposed to be.. But like the same problem you're facing.. The dark parts are really dark and such and it ruins the game.

I don't really know what to do or how to fix it.
I have a HP computer, aswell. HP TouchSmart. Funny thing is, I played the older (original) version of the 3.0 game, before it came onto Steam, as the Gold Edition and never had any of these problems. So I'm just wondering what needs to be done, to fix it. If you find out, post in the thread and let me know.
Thanks!

So far I've updated my graphics driver, checked my monitors driver, both of which are up to date. I've pretty much gathered that it must be something to do with my monitor, or some program that uses the primary monitor. I'm all out of ideas on how to fix it at this stage though, short of a full reset of the computer.

I have this problem too. From the title to main menu to the game. They look oddly dark. Changing gamma setting didn't help. All the colors are messed. Never had this problem with other games.

Who would be the team to contact for this, d'you think? Surely there must be someone who can be contacted about it? Maybe Disney, themselves..

It's weird, because Disney Infinity 1.0 and 2.0 work perfectly fine. It just seems to randomly be a problem with Disney Infinity 3.0 and I've no idea why.

From whta I've seen in forums, it looks like the developers have stoppped supporting this, which isn't good. So it's not likely to be patched unfortunately.
Does anyone else have their Nvidia shadowplay hud pop up for a bit? If they have it installed, I'm just thinking it'd have to be a program that is interfering with this

Well, I'm just looking into the game's assets.. To see if there's anything missing or if anything might be corrupt during installation or something. I'm currently on:

- Windows 10 (Version 1703) (OS Build 15063.413)

So I'm running the latest version of Windows. After looking into:

- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Disney Infinity 3.0 Gold Edition\assets

And then going into specific folders like shaders. etc. There's a zip file (WinRAR, for me) and after trying to extract or open it, it says:

"The archive is either in unknown format or damaged".

So I'm gonna attempt to re-install the game and see if that resolves the issue.

I had a look there last night also, I found that I couldn't open those either, however I found that exact file in the Disney Infinity 2 and it opened them easy. The shader one to be specific
I tried a reinstall to see if I could open those files, and it still says they may be damaged.

I've even tried closing any other programs that might be open and screwing with it, I've tried closing any non essentials, like Discord, Plex, even my Anti Virus software.
I'm thinking once I get home I might try a plugging my primary screen into another port, Or changing to a HDMI or something. Maybe that could or resolve it

EDIT: I've emailed the Disney Infinity support about this, here's hoping that something can be done about it, because I think I'm out of options

Any developments or news? I've re-installed the game (which I did, this morning). Gone back to the assets folder of "Disney Infinity 3.0" and it still says .zip folders (such as shaders. etc.) are still either in an unknown format or damaged. I have another friend on my Steam friends list who has the game and bought it, some time before me, so I'll ask him (when he comes online) if he has the same issue.

I'm gonna load the game up and try taking some screenshots, to see if the image comes out normally or if it's exactly the way the game displays the darker colours/graphics. But seriously, this REALLY needs fixing. Thing is.. Who do you contact about it? I mean.. Who is there you can actually speak to about it? I've tried to get the number for Avalanche Software, but I think they are (or were) actually part of Disney Interactive or w/e and all that has closed down (F*** you, Bob Iger! F*** you!). It's just really weird, because 2.0 works perfectly fine. No problems at all. Why does 3.0 have this graphical issue?!
The version I used to play of 3.0, from the Disney Infinity website, before all this Gold Edition stuff came about.. I had no problems with. Apart from the lag.. But that's down to the system spec, obviously. etc.

Ok, so I just took some screenshots of *my* current problem/issue.. Oddly enough (to my somewhat surprise), the screenshots actually came out normal (how the game should actually look. So I've had to edit a copy of the images, to demonstrate the problem.

Current (WORKING CORRECTLY) screenshots (taken in-game and just simply extracted from Steam)

Not fixed yet. But I've found this

https://pcmonitors.info/articles/correcting-hdmi-colour-on-nvidia-and-amd-gpus/

It's about color setting between graphic card and the screen which I don't really understand.
I've tried all YCbCr 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:2:2, Limited RGB 4:4:4, Full RGB 4:4:4 but still no luck.
Not sure is this all about. But might be something worth to dig further.

Okay so we're definitely looking at the same problem here. I've still found nothing at all to help with the problem, however. I've found that if I use my steam link and stream it to my bedroom TV, the game works perfectly. (mind you it's still all messed up on the PC, but when I'm playing it in another room who cares) So It's definitely the monitor or a connection to the monitor

So I reckon this post could be on to something

I've also recieved an email back from the disney infity support, they've said they've never seen this problem before, so hey I guess we'll see

Well, I've managed to fix my problem, @MasterOfPie. Basically, I'm running AMD Catalyst Control Center.. And pretty much what @khun_panya said, resolved my issue. I went into my AMD Catalyst Control Center and actually "enabled" GPU Upscaling and such.. But everything was in the 'My Digital Flat-Panels’ section. Made some changes there, loaded the game up and hey presto.. It fixed my issue.

I don't know what GPU you have (AMD, nVidia. etc.), but if you have AMD, give that solution a go and see how it works out for you.
