I've found that it's just my monitor that's doing this, a HP Pavillion 27xi, if I move any screenshots taken onto another screen, they look perfectly fine. So I've gathered that my monitor is making these changes just because the game is open. And running any other game will reset my screen back to normal. I've updated my monitors Drivers too. So I'm not sure.
I don't really know what to do or how to fix it.
I have a HP computer, aswell. HP TouchSmart. Funny thing is, I played the older (original) version of the 3.0 game, before it came onto Steam, as the Gold Edition and never had any of these problems. So I'm just wondering what needs to be done, to fix it. If you find out, post in the thread and let me know.
Thanks!
It's weird, because Disney Infinity 1.0 and 2.0 work perfectly fine. It just seems to randomly be a problem with Disney Infinity 3.0 and I've no idea why.
Does anyone else have their Nvidia shadowplay hud pop up for a bit? If they have it installed, I'm just thinking it'd have to be a program that is interfering with this
- Windows 10 (Version 1703) (OS Build 15063.413)
So I'm running the latest version of Windows. After looking into:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Disney Infinity 3.0 Gold Edition\assets
And then going into specific folders like shaders. etc. There's a zip file (WinRAR, for me) and after trying to extract or open it, it says:
"The archive is either in unknown format or damaged".
So I'm gonna attempt to re-install the game and see if that resolves the issue.
I had a look there last night also, I found that I couldn't open those either, however I found that exact file in the Disney Infinity 2 and it opened them easy. The shader one to be specific
I tried a reinstall to see if I could open those files, and it still says they may be damaged.
I've even tried closing any other programs that might be open and screwing with it, I've tried closing any non essentials, like Discord, Plex, even my Anti Virus software.
I'm thinking once I get home I might try a plugging my primary screen into another port, Or changing to a HDMI or something. Maybe that could or resolve it
EDIT: I've emailed the Disney Infinity support about this, here's hoping that something can be done about it, because I think I'm out of options
I'm gonna load the game up and try taking some screenshots, to see if the image comes out normally or if it's exactly the way the game displays the darker colours/graphics. But seriously, this REALLY needs fixing. Thing is.. Who do you contact about it? I mean.. Who is there you can actually speak to about it? I've tried to get the number for Avalanche Software, but I think they are (or were) actually part of Disney Interactive or w/e and all that has closed down (F*** you, Bob Iger! F*** you!). It's just really weird, because 2.0 works perfectly fine. No problems at all. Why does 3.0 have this graphical issue?!
The version I used to play of 3.0, from the Disney Infinity website, before all this Gold Edition stuff came about.. I had no problems with. Apart from the lag.. But that's down to the system spec, obviously. etc.

It's about color setting between graphic card and the screen which I don't really understand.
I've tried all YCbCr 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:2:2, Limited RGB 4:4:4, Full RGB 4:4:4 but still no luck.
Not sure is this all about. But might be something worth to dig further.
Okay so we're definitely looking at the same problem here. I've still found nothing at all to help with the problem, however. I've found that if I use my steam link and stream it to my bedroom TV, the game works perfectly. (mind you it's still all messed up on the PC, but when I'm playing it in another room who cares) So It's definitely the monitor or a connection to the monitor
So I reckon this post could be on to something
I've also recieved an email back from the disney infity support, they've said they've never seen this problem before, so hey I guess we'll see
I don't know what GPU you have (AMD, nVidia. etc.), but if you have AMD, give that solution a go and see how it works out for you.
