Can you still add new characters?

I've been wanting to get this game and now seeing that I can get all 3 for $14.. Are you able to unlock characters? I've tried googling this question only to be told that webcodes no longer work. Are they all unlocked from the start?

Without playing but reading forum posts it appears there are tokens to unlock non main characters that are not unlocked at the start. Hope you can get a better answer, usually there is a wiki for this kind of stuff.

thanks! Do you know who all counts as main characters in this one? Just main protagonists in major films or just a select few from the hero theme that this game seems to have?

All the characters are unlocked and playable in toybox mode from the start. The game is missing the 10 newest characters such as Nemo, Alice, Ant Man, etc. though.

As for playsets, you can only use characters that belong in the playset universe. For example, you can only use Star Wars characters in a Star Wars playset. In the beginning you are limited to only 4 or 5 characters until you find coins which allow you to use other characters. For example, in the Twilight playset, you can only use Obi, Anakin, Asoka, or Yoda when you first start. You will eventually find coins for all the other Star Wars characters though, and then you can use that corresponding character.
