What does unlocked mean?
When they say unlocked, does it mean that you can now play with any character or playset/world without having to buy the figures? Basically, you're getting hundreds of dollars worth of content for $30?

On Steam, users could purchase Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Superheroes.
- Disney Infinity 2.0 base game and access to Toy Box
- x1 Avengers Playset
- x3 figures; Black Widow, Thor and Iron Man
- Some Power/Hex discs

And then the user could purchase more figures in-game or else.

For Disney Infinity 3.0 on Steam, we had a Play without limits version and that essentially included:
- Disney Infinity 3.0 base game and access to Toy Box

Then the user could purchase figures, playsets and Power/Hex discs from the Steam Store or in-game. Or purchase a physical copy (they all came with a webcode) and then use that webcode to unlock the same content on PC.

The Disney Infinity 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0 Gold Edition can be purchased for $32.99 CND and everything is included (unlocked). You don't have to buy anything else, it's all there. Or you can purchase all 3 of them for $63 CND.

So, yes.

Cool, I have some family friends with kids I think might enjoy playing this and I think it's cool that Disney is unlocking all this content now that they don't make the toys and stuff.

It's definitely a much simpler and better business model. It's also better for those who want to create Toy Boxes or play them. All the physical figures were actually limiting the game in many ways.
