Need the portal?

Just bought 3.0 and a tonof characters on sale yesterday for the X1. I then see the gold edition on Steam. I feel I need this game but do I need the portal or is it now just pick up and play with no portal or physical characters needed?

The PC version has always been digital only. No physical toys needed.

You used to get a code with the physical toys that you could tap into the Disney website and unlock that content on the PC too - that's all gone now and the PC gold version just contains all the content in one pack.

What's that? I know there is no co-op and I hear there are some missing characters but I cannot find a character list anywhere.

We're missing Baloo, Dory, Nemo, their PlaySet, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Vision, Alice, Mad Hatter, Time.

Yes there's some stuff missing from the PC version that's on console but there's nothing extra to buy for the PC game now. Before there was starter packs and you could add to that with DLC or web codes from the physical toys.

I'm sad we don't get Baloo :(

I'm downloading now. If I don't like it I will have 2 hours to refund, but I think I will. Seems that all of the Star Wars characters are in.
