pushing for that local multiplayer

This is something that, honestly, we should have. With the only form of multiplayer gone on PC, it would have been nice for Disney Interactive to provide an alternative.
LAN or Split screen would have been nice, for example. something to be able to share your experience with others.

Because as far as I have been able to research (never owned or played this game myself), the PC version of Disney Infinity never had multiplayer in any form.

Is it then correct to say that by multiplayer you mean a kind of content sharing, and not actual multiplayer?
Or am I misunderstanding?

No. ToyBox on console had online multiplayer, for building together. Playsets had local split screen.

PC Disney infinity also had such a multiplayer before the shutdown

PC disney infinity 2.0 had online multiplayer with friends, DI 3.0 didn't have that on PC which was promised.

Yup, I remember a stream interview with one of the PC devs saying they'd worked hard on multiplayer for the PC with 3.0 and that's why it was delayed. I can't imagine they don't already have the basic funtionality that 2.0 had where you could invite friends into your toyboxes at least.

I expect it would be really easy for DI to add toybox coop through Steam friends system. I doubt they will but I wish they would. Especially now everything is unlocked :(

Yeah it is fairly easy to code in the multiplayer part, the splitscreen for example is basically just putting in the codes from 2.0 splitscreen more or less atleast since the console version has it.

And im willing to bet that i could make it possible as long as i had the file containing those lines since i've been doing some modding on my own in different kind of games like Dragon's Dogma for example.

But as steam version of games usually automatically updates it's not a failsafe way but im still willing to bet it would work though with maybe some minor changing in other codings.

But atleast i can say that you should not have your hopes up for disney to do it since they won't and never had the intention to do it from the start, atleast that's what i felt from their response from the support earlier this year.
