The reason I never started playing Disney Infinity had to do with the price. The marketing was really confusing and annoying to go through. If you wanted to have everything available you had to buy playsets and figures. So, even though the game looked really fun, I decided to skip. Now with the gold editions for each serie I get to experience the Disney Infinity experience for an affordable price. Every playset and figure is in the gold edition of your choosing, so no more paying extra for the whole experience. I decided to buy the gold edition bundle while I want to play all the editions and buying them in a bundle is cheaper than buying them seperatly. Unfortunately the franchise is discontinued, so no more content will be added. I think that's a shame while the introduction of these gold editions is a really good marketing move in my opinion. It convinced me to buy the games. I do hope that the final play sets will get edited to steam as well and the other play sets which are not part of the gold edition. I believe Zootropolis is one of them. Also, I hope that we will be able to share our toy boxes via steam workshop eventually. Would be a shame not to share our creations and look at what other players created.

So, if you are new to Disney Infinity like me, and perhaps for the same reason never played the game, I recommend the game. I think the art style is fun, environments are really well done and like the overall gameplay. It helps if you are a Disney fan. If you really want to play the game I would suggest buying the bundle while you save 30 euros doing so.

ive played this game for hours as a kid so i wanted to get all 3 again on steam. its fun playing as characters we could never find or afford. now if only lego dimensions does this lol

The first game in the best Disney game series ever created! Want to be a pirate? You can! Want to be a car, a toy, a monster college student, or a lawman? You can do that too! Want to be a monster college student weilding a flamingo, while riding a toy horse?? YES! YOU CAN DO THAT TOO! Infinite possibilities, as endless as your imagination.

Disney Infinity 1.0: Gold Edition is not a great game, nor is it a great version of the game it is. The combat, driving, and platforming are all passable, if unremarkable. Additionally, this version is buggy and lacks any sort of online play or even local co-op. If you like Disney properties represented in this game, though, you'll probably find it a charming game. And if you want to try the game out regardless, this is the cheapest way to get all of the characters, playsets, and power discs.

The customization aspect of the game is fairly awkward, though. It is supposedly a pain on consoles, and on PC, you have to use mouse-and-keyboard controls, even if you're playing with a controller.

Anyway, onto the individual playsets:

Pirates of the Caribbean is probably the most fleshed-out of the bunch. It's a fun, pirate-themed platformer that also features naval combat and sailing on the high seas.

The Incredibles is probably the most combat-oriented, and the characters are actually fairly varied in that regard. That in itself is impressive, considering this playset has the most playable characters of any included, and all but Dash are voiced by their movie voice actors. The combat itself is fun, but I'll admit that it starts to wear out its welcome just as it comes to an end.

Monsters University stands out for covering a setting and film genre not usually explored in games - college life. The stealth gameplay and emphasis on pranking give it a unique flavor as well.

Cars is the most unique of the playsets, so in theory, it should be the most refreshing. However, the driving isn't really that good, and in practice, there's a lot of seemingly out-of-pace collect-a-thon-ing and fetch quests.

The Lone Ranger and Toy Story in Space both work off of the same basic premise of cowboys managing towns. The Lone Ranger tries to mix things up with train cargo management, but that is ultimately a pain when trying to do so on foot. It also lacks the inherent charm that Toy Story in Space has. Toy Story also has some fun mechanical gimmicks and gadgets to give it a considerable edge.

I miss being a kid.
